Hi, new to lemmy in general so am just starting to explore and join the community so bare with me!

This profile is from a federated server and may be incomplete. Browse more on the original instance.

buxtonwater,

Yeah good luck with that… Even if it was agreed upon it is effectively unenforceable without resorting to essentially temporary theft as we see today, causing the students to hide their phones even better.

buxtonwater,

Not really, they’re still using them. Just not as obviously. They’d be even more distracted trying to hide it and focus on everything at the same time.

buxtonwater,

Firefox supremacy! Keep the non-chromiuim branch alive forevermore, no centralization please.

buxtonwater,

Same points here for me, but I had more emphasis on the camera which is why I went with my 6A.

buxtonwater,

Jerboa is in Alpha so there is tons of features missing in it. You'll want to use desktop for full functionality for now.

buxtonwater,

Lately, Battle Brothers. It's god damn brutal but I love min maxing my bros and carefully playing essentially battle-chess with them before dying horribly and restarting my save.

buxtonwater,

This for sure, all the art and also all the NSFW art collected on reddit is going to become significantly harder to access, it'd be nice to have somewhere for both.

buxtonwater,

New user here, where are you seeing this NSFW content? I've seen absolutely nothing despite having it enabled.

buxtonwater,

Ah that could be why, I can't get into beehaw thanks to the login issues going on with lemmy atm so I wouldn't be able to see it.

buxtonwater,

He's got to keep that CEO title so his balls don't explode from a lack of ego stroking.

buxtonwater,

I've found 12ft.io to be largely useless in my experience, it doesn't do a shit ton of major outlets because they complained to the website and so it doesn't seem to work

buxtonwater,

Then they should set a reasonable price, not $20 million dollars for allowing access to data in useful volumes. I wonder how long it's gonna take until reddit starts collapsing fully, the first few proverbial chains have broken so the ball is rolling.

Fresh user here, is GenZedong community is botting their comment count or are they just 215 insanely active lemmy users? (lemmy.ml)

Because the sheer quantity of comments in comparison to the tiny amount of users and subs is nuts, each user would have been required to do ~250 minimum comments each if my hair brained maths is correct, a ratio which far exceeds any other community here by miles, or am I just missing some key context here?...

buxtonwater,

That makes sense if they migrated here that much earlier, a core userbase that transfers could pretty easily rack up those numbers over a few years.

buxtonwater,

An archival bot makes perfect sense, thanks for the answer!

buxtonwater,

Hey don't shoot me just for wanting to know, and know I know it's because of the archival bot.

buxtonwater,

Yeah they are pretty nuts, it's no wonder they got kicked off reddit, getting kicked off of reddit requires straight up effort at this point as well so it really shows how far gone the hardcore users are.

buxtonwater,

That’s because it doesn’t, the dude is talking out his ass.

buxtonwater,

Same issue here, can't log in, can't register, infinite spinning on any browser.

buxtonwater,

As a brit this is perfect, guess the windows 11 dev team just really loves us.

How has ur lemmy experience been so far?

Im joining in on the reddit ditching thing, and was kinda worried at first that i wouldnt be able to like use it the way i did reddit as it feels like a whole new place, but after engaging with posts and people and actually being a part of lemmy rather than being lurk mode all the time i was pleasantly surprised with how easy it...

buxtonwater, (edited )

Had some issues getting an account with loading going infinitely until approved, which is just confusing as a new user as there was no notification about it timing out, and almost led to some duplication by accident. But so far it has actually been pretty smooth other than that, I like the UI and the community focus a lot.

buxtonwater,

Or a short like 5 minute video explaining the whole process that's easily digestible, post that shit to reddit and see how it goes.

buxtonwater,

MinutePhysics? I think they're a whole animation company that does work like that on comission, might be getting them confused with another group though.

buxtonwater,

Look forward to being here once the login issues are sorted out! The community's here are so much nicer and higher quality than practically anywhere else.

buxtonwater,

There is also the problem with “gone wild” style subs, where the users posts their own explicit pictures, but that doesn’t mean they want those pictures reposted elsewhere without their control.

That does unfortunately come with the territory of posting anything on the internet though, especially explicit material.
