The thing is that the marketing for it--and everything about everything Kojima does in particular--hails it as the most complex, deep, meaningful game ever. But you're playing Philip J fucking Fry. Kojima is almost as bad as David Cage and everyone seems to be okay with it.
This is exactly what happened when the folks behind the hostile takeover of freenode started banning people for talking about libera.chat. And we see precisely how well that went for freenode. This is what happens when business people make decisions.
Oh, yeah, it was this huge, frankly surreal, thing. The founder of Private Internet Access decided he wanted his own IRC network and bullied his way into being in charge, along with a team of cronies and yes-men.
And he's already started with the personal attacks against Christian Selig, the Apollo author. Already. Barely 10 minutes into the AMA and he's already personally attacking someone. What a piece of shit.
Yes, but... specifics? What changed? What happened? The post doesn't actually say. I was hoping for something with information I can start a discussion from.
Writing can take many forms now a days. Some prefer pen and paper and others prefer word processors. I am curious what !writing uses for their own writing....
Strongly recommend trying a fountain pen instead of a rollerball or especially instead of a ballpoint. You don't need to apply any pressure. Also, funny thing about fountain pens, people who use them typically observe that their handwriting improves over time :)
With gaming often bringing me into a really depressive headspace sometimes with how the markets are developing, whats a game you can always go to and just be lost in, or just be happy with?...
Hello everyone! I really want to get into the jrpg genre but I have no idea which game would be good for a beginner. I have played persona 5 and I really enjoyed it. Any recommendations would be really appreciated!
I think we should stop saying "JRPG", but if you must, another vote for Chrono Trigger, though it will spoil you on games of that type: no grinding, no random encounters, good balance of playable characters, unique combat mechanics that to this day haven't really been explored (specifically, dual and tri-techs, special abilities that require certain combinations of party members and that utilize all of their abilities).
I've never been sentimental about a social media site but it's sad for me to see reddit so clearly killing itself. Pushshift is already banned and Apollo is soon to follow. Reddit will either pivot fully to a mainstream audience or die out. It's just sad for me to see it doing it to itself.
Beginning to? No. That happened years ago. It was clear several years ago that they were taking the site in a direction I didn't like. Around the time that "new" reddit was released along with the official app.
You overestimate how many people use third-party apps. They are the (very) vocal minority. They may represent a majority of the content submitted, but there's an arbitrary number of web users who don't have an account (hi) in addition to all the casual users who just use the app.
And then, later, when the current batch of awful is accepted as the new norm, they'll reintroduce the more egregious stuff. It's almost like they're taking cues from the video game industry...
The greed on plain display here is egregious. This is going to kill charity streams, especially big ones like Games Done Quick. They make millions per year, of which Twitch gets their share, but they want more, because the graph must always go up and to the right because investors are monsters.
This being said, I don’t think it’s your responsibility to warn us about paywalls.
Why? I want to be notified if I won't be able to engage with a post. The entire point of sharing things is to start a discussion, and if I can't do that because something is paywalled, what's the point?
I should probably go to bed at this point. I typed up a short story of my arduous attempts at defending an outpost in the STALKER modpack GAMMA and how my game crashed when I turned in the quest. Sent off that post and woe-is-me, the entire text didn't get submitted and I didn't have it saved in copy-paste. It's just so...
For me it's been communities like /r/buildapc, /r/buildapcforme, /r/buildapcsales, /r/gamedeals, and /r/consoledeals have been useful throughout the years.
Yes, it's probably the best information source on reddit because of the combination of expert knowledge and strict moderation. I'm sure the strict moderation is why the experts spend their time there, because they know they won't have to deal with the average redditor.
I am not at all qualified to make a recommendation for an instance for you to join, I'm sorry! The server list on the Join Mastodon site has some good servers, some bad.
There are several good mastodon instances, just not mastodon.social. Moderating is hard and you have to actually do it and not be afraid it's censorship. Oh, and not being a fascist helps. I'm beginning to wonder about the mastodon.social admins.
What’s everyone playing this weekend?
I myself am 100ish hours into AC Odyssey on the Steam Deck, looking forward to getting stabby on some malakas!

Jrpgs for a beginner

Is anyone else beginning to mourn reddit?

I went to Reddit today...
And saw a bunch of posts about the third party apps closing down, and lots of negativity about that whole fiasco....

Thoughts on linking to paywalled sites?
I want to be clear that this is not a reaction to any specific post, just something that I'm thinking about as I'm browsing around....
How are you feeling right now (gaming-wise)?

What are some communities that aren't here yet that you hope to see in the future?
