I made it! It was a rough month full of all kinds of obstacles IRL, a lot of stressors that really sapped my creative energy. There are plenty of days just getting my 1667 was a slog and those passages are likely absolute trash, but I still pushed through. It's been mentally exhausting and I wasn't sure I was going to make it at one point, but hey...

... I did it! \o/

Played some My Time at Sandrock in /multiplayer/ mode tonight and it was a grand time!

It's so different from solo player mode, so I definitely recommend checking it out! I kept laughing at myself because I kept getting lost in town (the map is a bit different) and the talent trees are different. It was really like playing a brand new game!

And I have more family time than usual this evening. So I'm on just for a short while, just doing a bit of post ARR story.

Most days my cat sleeps on her bed next to wifeys desk…

But whenever my health is bad/worse/flaring up? She’s on me immediately. Wherever I am, whenever it is - she’ll lay on my chest and make sure I’m ok for as long as needed.

This is the most beautiful part of our 17 1/2 year bond. I cherish this today and every day. 🤗

My cat, Kiri, does the same thing. :D We call her Nurse Kiri when she's in that mode. Whenever I'm having a bad pain day, she's usually somewhere around me: on the corner of my desk where she has a self-warming kitty pad, on the back of my chair, or a short distance away on her bed -- but always within her line of sight.

I love her and our bond so much. :blobcathearthug:

When I've not been struggling against pain, I'm fighting against my own distractedness. My brain fizzes out trying to think about too many things.

Then when I do hyper-focus for a few hours - and nearly forget to eat - I feel bad for the things I didn't do.

/sigh

Well, I'm collecting crafting crystals and clusters tonight in as downtime. Splendorous tools kinda ate up most of my crystal supply.

Don't forget you can also send your retainers to collect them! Quantities vary depending on your retainer's perception stat.

My Level 90 relatively okay-geared retainers bring back 120 Shards per 40-minute trip.

And here is a clear illustration as to why I hate American Medicine.

I have three auto-immune conditions, one of which is a skin condition, that are carefully managed by my rheumatologist. He recently prescribed me a new medication to help with my skin.

The INSURANCE has denied me getting that medication because -- get this -- the doctor prescribing it isn't a DERMATOLOGIST. Do they not realize that there are /other/ doctors that treat skin conditions?

I am in no way good at the new Fall Guys event; my arthritis and dactylitis make it pretty much impossible for me to get past Round 1. So, I just AFK at the start and watch something on Netflix til the round ends. It's slow-going to the things I want, but infinitely less frustrating.

Absolutely seconding that Wildermyth is a fantastic game. Me and my friends always get a giggle out of it, because I name all the characters after my friends and we see who ends up in what relationships.

Current Word Count: 5398

I'm over 2000 words ahead of schedule so far, but I know how easy it is to start to fall behind if I don't keep up with my 1667 each day.

I'm still excited and nervous, but hopeful that I can get this done. I can't wait to talk to my therapist on Friday and tell him everything I've done. He'll be so proud. 😆

I am 100% a Plotter. I've had my outline written for along time now and have revamped it several times before the start of Nano. I may deviate from it from time to time, but I at least need to have some sense of organization to it all. 😆

I make decent money two ways: Fishing and throwing stuff in the Preserve Jar. There are probably faster/better ways, sure, but these are easy, simple things (one of which just requires me tossing veggies into a barrel).

Aside from that, though, I do agree that a lot of things feel cost prohibitive if Palia isn't your main game where you spend the lion's share of your time.

For me, Palia has a long way to go before it will ever topple FFXIV as my main gaming staple. Palia feels too limited in scope and content at present. Maybe once they add a few more zones, some different wildlife, and better ways of earning gold than grinding it out, it'll feel better.

For now, it's just something I play during FFXIV maintenance. XD

I'm brushing off an old project and reworking it from the ground up, basically a retelling of the origins of Excalibur.

The big hoo-harr about people changing their digital appearance using filters/software makes it sound like doing this is a new thing.

There's a reason Oliver Cromwell gave us the phrase "warts and all". When people (rich and/or royal) commissioned artists to paint them, it was always designed to make them look better than reality. Better skin, shinier clothes, whatever. He didn't.

Technology hasn't given us the idea, it's just made it easier.

The issue isn't tech, it's people's thinking.

I really don't get the bru-ha-ha about it. Like, just let people play with their pixels how they want, yeah? It doesn't affect you. It doesn't hurt you. It just makes someone else happy.

I find it weirdly pleasing when the person I select as my Dance Partner as a Dancer ends up at the top of the Enmity list. That means they're doing good damage, right?!
