I have been enjoying Sandrock off and on and, well, Logan's been on my mind. I guess my brain needed to do something with him so here's the town's most notorious outlaw and monster hunter!
Prolly gonna make a magnet or small print out of this, too, if y'all want.
I thought that I was finished with My Time at Sandrock but I was wrong! I've got several more quests to get done first, I suppose I should complete those first.
I'm sharing these two screenshots of my character, Max, in whimsical pink armor! I wish more games had fun armor options for players to use!
Post-apocalyptic chic is a fantastic look, perhaps I should model a lot of the armor sets sometime soon!
I unlocked the Chainsaw in My Time at Sandrock! It seems like I'm getting closer to the end of the overarching Main Quest...I've been loving this game so far throughout my 108-hour playthrough. I think the house customization is one of the best things about this game. As you can truly make a house your home.
However, sadly that extends to the Factory (which was more self contained in Portia, had its own power source you'd have to feed. It was more fuel efficient).
I personally love the Greenhouse as it works as intended the first time around. Being able to create as large or as small of an indoor farming situation is rather nice. You get unlimited biocrust to use and fill out the space with crop ready tiles. The fact it auto fertilizes, and waters is a blessing to me!
I didn't realize that I've already played 100 hours of My Time at Sandrock. My hyperfocus for this game is still going strong. Since I've been enjoying the gameplay loop quite a bit, getting my daily commissions, setting up my factory queue for fulfilling those orders of goods.
I've gotten a decent socialization, material gathering, and exploration pattern going so my playthrough doesn't become stale. I'll finish this game before moving on to another.
Huh, My Time at Sandrock still has more content... That's pretty cool! I'm currently working on finishing what the Commerce Guild tasked builders with before the big invasion of an enemy nation took place. The big build of making a road to Portia, which would create infrastructure that would connect the Free Cities via a safer land route. Can't wait to see that project through.
I don't like the new way the Factory works in My Time at Sandrock. The factory requires more micromanagement, it's not explained well at all (I eventually figured it out though). The prefab system was great for this type of building as it eliminates a lot of fiddling around. I spent the majority of my in-game day trying to make the building work correctly. All that remains is reorganizing my in-game yard and supply my factory with raw goods and more machinery.
I liked the story in My Time at Sandrock more than the one in My Time at Portia. Early Access and fan feedback made that a lot better. Pathea Games had a lot of fun writing the story, it shows in so many places throughout my playthrough. They even give the player some really cool weapons that mimic the bosses fighting style (the outfits are pretty damn cool too).
I hope their next game shows us what they learned from developing My Time at Sandrock!
Now that the dusting and part one of my big wash-up is complete, I'm chilling out for the rest of today! There are anime episodes to get caught up on: Under Ninja and Jujutsu Kaisen!
After that, I'm going back to playing My Time at Sandrock because I'm thirsting for more Owen. 😂
ROFL I just got a reverse proposal from Owen...The character who rejected my Heart Knot for quite a while. It was at a play the Barkeep Bard himself composed.
It was beautiful and made me almost cry as the words resonated so strongly with me. The way he's written feels so real for a man in his situation. Owen's good people and now my digital husband!
I could ugly cry because finally Owen has accepted the Heart Knot...His dialogue has become so warmly intimate that I feel my heart skipping beats. It's ironic that another flesh and blood man couldn't make me feel this way for long, but a digital one makes me swoon! 😂
I've always suspected that there's a bit of aromantic in me...Enough that prevents real romance from blossoming but fictional MM romance affects me strongly. It's full steam ahead now, Owen, my digital heart!
OMG manual saves in My Time at Sandrock have elevated the overall experience! It also seems like they got professionals to voice act this game too as it's smooth, the visual style is so pretty.
I'm honestly really hyped for the manual saving as it's a big bug bear for me in the gaming space. Gamers need to be offered the choice of how they want to preserve their progress in games! Autosaving only after sleep is one of the lamest choices a dev can make these days.
Played some My Time at Sandrock in /multiplayer/ mode tonight and it was a grand time!
It's so different from solo player mode, so I definitely recommend checking it out! I kept laughing at myself because I kept getting lost in town (the map is a bit different) and the talent trees are different. It was really like playing a brand new game!
