Just as long as everyone who doesn't want search and analytics knows that this will prevent most organizations from using the platform, we're all good.

Adoption, for them, means justifying use to their bosses.

@ben good point. Masto (maybe not fedi as a whole) is community software, whereas BS says upfront they are broadcast social media. Two different things, and that’s why I use both.

Definitely looking forward to the combination of truly unhinged AI hype and a writers strike. “Do we even need writers?”, some over-paid exec is saying somewhere, while asking ChatGPT to finish the script to Severance season 3.

A lot of tech is not really about increasing AGENCY but CONVENIENCE, which often means limiting choices to achieve scale which means monocultures (then of course enshittification sets in).

@liztai if you want a look I can give you a code. It really is an early Twitter clone at this point, but you can test out the dns based verification for example and see some of the bots people have built on top of atproto. It is just the beginning
