I just saw a video on Instagram where a woman used a bit of water to get the last of the sauce out of a jar, and the top comment was someone saying "why on earth would you use water? It has no flavour, you should use wine, beer, chicken stock..."

I swear social networks have made people think that everyone is in a competition to live the most optimum and perfect life possible.

Maybe I’m missing something, but it’s been around 24 hours since I joined Bluesky, and I already feel bored with it.

Whereas Mastodon has its own (federated) take on what social networking should be, on the face of it, Bluesky feels like a Twitter-clone.

I have a feeling that I will need to change the URI structure of my blog to make it more suitable for longevity.

Right now, all posts use this format: /:slug

What I'm thinking, is to something similar to one of these:

/archive/:year/:slug
/:year/:slug
/:year/:month/:slug

I'm starting to think Threads might do well.

I'd say a good amount of people are on Twitter and Instagram. And if you've become annoyed with Twitter recently, the idea of a service that's "like Twitter but from Instagram", might sound appealing.

I just went on Twitter and I saw people talking about how you shouldn’t ever close apps, and it’s better to keep everything open.

I put in a request with my works IT department for a new MacBook, because after having a 16" Intel MBP, I was given an M1 13" MBP that can't connect to multiple external monitors (natively).
They started telling me that not even a 16" MacBook Pro can connect to 2 external monitors...
Sure, just give me the new laptop 😂

Now I have a big phone, I think I'll probably end up trying to write more on it.

Which means I now need to think of a solution that fits my curent blog set up. My blog is a statically generated site built using Hugo, and it's all based on a repo of Markdown files.

So I need to find an editor in iOS that I like, that can also deal with external files, and then I need to work out how to publish content (use Git).

I think I might try an informal experiment with my blog. Try to remove any friction with my blogging workflow (Not changing host, just publishing process), and lowering my barrier to writing about something.
It probably won't be a long-term thing, but will probably help me identify what I want to write about.

I have 9 chores I want to get done. So my plan is 1 chore per hour, and playing Plunderstorm within the gaps. 😅
