Nah… Dumbledore was metal… Quirrel would’ve stayed there staring into the mirror ignoring all his basic biological needs until he died of dehydration. Harry, Hermoine and Ron were completely unnecessary to stopping Voldemort in the first book.

Trump's lawyers seek to suspend $83M defamation verdict, citing 'strong probability' it won't stand (apnews.com)

Donald Trump’s lawyers asked a New York judge Friday to suspend an $83.3 million defamation verdict against the former president, saying there was a “strong probability” that it would be reduced on appeal, if not eliminated....

cubism_pitta,

No, he was not actually convicted of rape in a criminal court.

So even though a judge has called him a rapist he is not “legally” a rapist as he has not been found guilty of the crime of rape.

Criminal court is where you go when a DA is brining charges against you. Civil court is the place where you and I would go to settle a lawsuit.

0.jaegers.net/?966fe7e5869f728e#6dzfJbegSNHvhWEjr…

Article tells you it all… if you know where to go! (was just sitting in the JS)

cubism_pitta,

I was hoping for free :( BUT $150 for Zeiss lenses is pretty ok price wise. (especially when we are complaining about $150 on top of a $3500 device)

cubism_pitta,

I got a fixed gear bike last year and a trailer to pull my kids around in (when they want to go with me).

I pretty much exclusively use that to get around and get groceries instead of my car now.

Even in the rain, it’s just so much more fun to be on a bicycle than to drive.

cubism_pitta,

Can I get one of these, but electric? I’ll take two if they look way cooler.

I think the bike in the article is electric I thought it looked like this, but it could be another manufacturer’s design

cubism_pitta,

Where I live is mostly flat and am running 46x16. Hills really wouldn’t scare me too much (I still have brakes)

The biggest limiting factor I have found in towing is that there is a point where the trailer will unload my front wheel and then my steering becomes more of a suggestion (about 100+ lbs… I am routinely exceeding the suggested limits)

Here is an article about ratios. It’s really about finding the least worst setup for your needs; easier hill climbs means more spinning when going down hills and lower top speed.

cubism_pitta,

Thanks for that! I didn’t know the math to work that out!

The pushing is not as scary because I don’t exceed 10mph when that heavy of a trailer and because I can resist that pushing quite a bit with the pedals… which is a great feeling.

cubism_pitta,

I really like their Harry Potter spoof

As well as the guy who can’t stop saying “Deez Nuts”

cubism_pitta,

Even human controlled, (which they state in the video that it is not an autonomous demo). The point of what they were showing was the dexterity. Folding laundry is a difficult task and it seems like the mechanics are able to pick up and work with the fabric pretty effortlessly which is important. If they can thread a needle (again even remote controlled) that would be a big leap for the mechanical part of robotics… I feel the need to point out that I wouldn’t piss on Elon if he were on fire… but for what this is it is an interesting demo.

cubism_pitta,

Actually it looks like while its not illegal it is illegal to use it in food and supplements (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tianeptine); In this case those products are already considered illegal.

cubism_pitta,

Indeed, just silly that the article makes it sound like those products are legal when I assume based on the wiki that the store owner CAN be held accountable (at least for the sale of illegal items)

cubism_pitta, (edited )

Good eye!! I tried to make it clear but that was the best I was going to get.

Also… they were delicious!

cubism_pitta,

Looks like I would need a newer Palm Device palmdb.net/app/zdoomz but it does have Tetris

cubism_pitta,

My DNS setup at the moment is lazy I am using NextDNS. It lets me individual rules for each vlan though which I like as it gives a lot of control.

cubism_pitta,

nah, I just started setting things up and it kept working…

cubism_pitta,

I think it’s amusing that we have gone full circle on Soulja Boy… I remember Ice-T had an entire mixtape dissing Soulja Bay more than a decade ago. I don’t listen to much newer music but I think that some of the older artists in any genre like to hate on some of the new guys.

cubism_pitta,

Best place to start if you’re taking security seriously; Implementing file encryption for example has to start with “I would rather that I myself potentially lose access to this data than for it to possibly fall into another person’s hands.”

cubism_pitta,

Prius is slooooooow :( Bolt EV!!! (though that is not c63 fast and certainly not as nice)

cubism_pitta,

My previous house was smart down to nearly every light being RGB Hue. For movie nights it kicked ass to be able to sync the lights in my living room / kitchen to the movie.

The challenge in IoT is the “I”. Many companies make cheap products that REQUIRE internet to work and are not going to work longer than a decade in most cases.

When I was designing that house I had made it a point to not purchase any device that was not Zigbee, Z-Wave or Natively compatible with HomeKit which led to a very robust setup that would continue to function even when the internet was down.

If you are dabbling I recommend making the same decision even if you plan to use GoogleHome or Alexa. The HomeKit compatible things usually cost more for a reason.
