So I installed Ubuntu a couple weeks ago. And it's been
Really nice! My best experience with desktop Linux ever, actually. This weekend I've been using it for daily use instead of Windows and I've been satisfied.
Until
Until today I ran the GIMP :(
Oh my god it's so bad :( It has not noticeably improved in 20 years and it was bad then
In honor of the new world record for Rubik’s Cube solving set by Max Park this week, a total of 3.13 seconds, here is the tiniest cube I’ve ever seen.
It really moves, it’s so cute I almost cried, and now it has a special place in my desk drawer so that it doesn't get lost or swept away by a gentle breeze or something
Hate it when you notice someone who unfollowed you and you're like 90% sure it's a mistake but what are you gonna do, ask them about it? Cause if it's then 10% then that's gonna be a real awkward conversation
@aeva I've heard ... there is no vsync on xorg? Just leaving this comment here to check back, I'd love to see the solution. (A Debian update solved Stardew screen tearing for me while still on xorg, so there should be something)
After spending the last few years getting into shader programming, partially to get ready for AR stuff, I’m a bit sad to find out you’re not supposed to write shaders for visionOS apps. https://mastodon.social/@tojiro/110512420120042004
Shaders are the equivalent of CSS in 3D: the fun stuff. What visionOS wants instead is kind of the equivalent of Tailwind or something like that: predefined building blocks.
The standard library of the Rust programming language contains a type trait "Yeet", which can be applied to a struct and in the official docs is explained to be "experimental". The official docs provide no information whatsoever what it does. https://doc.rust-lang.org/std/ops/struct.Yeet.html
I'm trying to put together a list of interactive playgrounds. Here's a list of what I have so far (playgrounds for floating point, CSS, DNS, nginx, postgres, sqlite, git, unicode, compilers, Rust, Go, and other languages). https://gist.github.com/jvns/3cfd81a58bcecb11c7f097ebcc8e923d
What other great interactive playgrounds am I missing?
