Funny enough: Drupal was where I went after giving up on Joomla and it had the same fate for me. It had 1000 pounds of functionality for a simple web app.

Which movies have aged like fine wine? (either in their message or cinematography)

I recently saw ‘Don’t Look Now’ (1973). Good picture, a little slow perhaps by today’s standards but worthy of any movie enjoyer’s time! So this movie was shot in Venice. Venice itself being an already beautiful spot to film even today. The way we get to look in a time capsule of Venice in the 70s makes the movie that...

Little known fact: the visual effects look so good because they shot the mattes and all elements ON THE SAME PIECE OF FILM. They’d shoot the matte, put the film in storage, build the set, then shoot the scene on top of that.

What happened to "stoner" comedies?

Half-Baked. Happy Gilmore. Billy Madison. Grandma’s Boy. Dude, Where’s My Car? Where have the movies like this gone? Clerks 3 was, I think, the last good one I’ve ever seen (and even they got too real and too sad so I don’t even know if I ever want to see it again as a comedy). There’s gotta be some good, funny shit...

If you must know, I’m cross-posting for parity. I’d like it if I didn’t have to do that but, being a fan of decentralization, I made a few communities for Cardano to prevent the name from falling into the hands of corrupt, price-focused moonbois and bored ape-pushing crypto bros while also recruiting a mod from Reddit to co-mod the world community.

I created a community on world and on infosec for parity. To me, it’s telling that there’s no community here while reddit’s community is massive. Since it’s a decentralized project, you’d think I’d have more ideological brethren moving over with the API changes… but that just didn’t happen mostly because people are hypocrites.

I continue to lurk and post stuff like this while I watch everyone around me shit on even the most technically-sound crypto protocols every chance they get. I mod quite a few communities on Lemmy that I didn’t find when I came over from Reddit. That’s not to say no one will ever post here. But right now you’re 100% correct. So thanks for posting your negative little comment. It made my day in a strange way.

It is said that if you want to build a community, you need to create one and post in that community at the bare minimum. So here I am.
