The problem with these $200 pp ramen restaurants in SF is (1) I'm glad people are going, I know why restauranteurs in this city feel they need to focus on the top end (2) most of the time, ramen and Japanese spots in SF that charge $200 are not 5x better than things that cost $40 or less in almost every global food city that isn't SF. Or even in San Mateo (which has markedly better Japanese food).

@shanselman I had cards made for job hunting, with linkedin profile and a QR code linking to a resume and all that.

I then brought the other cards to the recruiting event. Of course. How could it be otherwise?

A dead-end tech company job was destroying my mental health. I HAD to bounce to prevent another round of long-term burnout setting in. I could already feel it nipping at the edges of my mind.

Keeping my mental health AND insurance for the household costs roughly as much as the mortgage each year. It's quite a burden.

Still, burnout is far more expensive by comparison.

@blaise @danilo To reduce our COBRA costs I signed up for a high-deductible plan, for emergency/accident coverage. Everything routine up to a $6,000 deductible we pay out of pocket.

It is US $2300/month. It will generally pay out nothing, but it is $2300 per month. The small percentage of the time it pays out will be expensive.

US healthcare is fractally broken. No matter what level you look, there is more brokenness hidden within.

I always think it's funny when right-wing types get mad at Star Wars for becoming "woke." They didn't notice the obvious fascist imagery? They didn't realize that they were the villains in this whole cinematic universe? So unobservant! I would never make that mistake! I'd know if I was the villain in a whole cinematic universe!

Anyway, I can't wait to watch the second installment of Dune! What'll happen next in Arrakis(Iraq)? Will the spice(oil) flow? Will Paul's Jihad topple the empire(us)?

You can pass /dev/net/tun into the container, so apps won't have to use SOCKS5/HTTP_PROXY.

docker run -d -v /dev/net/tun:/dev/net/tun
