Logitech Now Goes To A random website in order to add peripherals to a PC

As if it wasn’t bad enough that they want me to use a random internet service to add a keyboard to a usb wifi receiver, they are also stopping Firefox users from accessing it. I clicked out of pure curiosity, as I’m not even remotely interested in involving a corporate internet service in getting my keyboard connected to my...

dilligasatall,

I gave up on Logitech after buying a Logitech “Harmony” universal remote years ago. Normally you just have to toss a code or two into a universal remote to get it to work with your device, but I guess that would have been too easy for them.

Instead, you have to download their terrible app, create an account, connect the remote via usb, and give logitech all the details about every device you own that you’d like to use it for. Want to change a single detail? Gotta plug the remote back into the pc, launch the app, sign in, and wait until your firstborn goes to college while it apparently connects to the last working Commodore 64 hidden somewhere in the Amazon rainforest.

I should not need to report to some corporation every time I want to change the slightest thing on the remote I paid good money for.

[Music News] Beyoncé is selling $157 “listening only” tickets for her Renaissance tour. The seats are behind the stage, so you can’t see the concert, any of the set, or dancing. (finance.yahoo.com)

Summary: “Beyoncé is selling “listening only” tickets for her Renaissance tour. The seats are behind the stage, so you can’t see any of the set or dancing, but they only cost $157 compared to the ~$900 fans have been paying for regular US tickets.”...

dilligasatall,

$75 but shit tickets are $25 per single ply square.

“Final Space” ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_Space ),

“Disenchantment” ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disenchantment_(TV_series) ),

“Star Trek: Lower Decks” ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Trek:_Lower_Decks )

or if you’re into science stuff “Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey” Produced by Seth Mcfarlane with Niel Degrasee Tyson en.wikipedia.org/…/Cosmos:_A_Spacetime_Odyssey (Not really a cartoon, but it’s still a good watch.)

dilligasatall,

If that’s the tutorial quest I don’t think I want to see the final boss.

dilligasatall,

dev-iptv.web.app/US/

There’s 2400 channels there, but it’s kind of hit and miss… some aren’t broadcasting or are geo-blocked etc but there’s still a lot of ok ones to go through.

dilligasatall,

yup there really isn’t much rhyme or reason to it. I have one cat that loves to steal rolls of electrical tape and anything velcro.

dilligasatall,

Some people really are addicted to Cheetos. Anything with orange powder is like crack to them.

dilligasatall,

They only care about the economy when the democrats are holding the purse strings, then suddenly it’s all they care about.

dilligasatall,

Remember when your parents used to scream at you for dragging mud in the house? This is why.

dilligasatall,

I guess nobody told them that you never throw water on a greece fire.

dilligasatall,

How much weed are these guys smoking? I’m surprised they haven’t “reinvented” the trebuchet at this point.

dilligasatall,

Bad back, bad knee, arthritic hands, missing the tips of 2 fingers, bad wrist, a lot of scars, pulmonary fibrosis (Scarred lungs from working in dusty environments) at 50 yrs.

But thankfully no cancer yet lol

dilligasatall,

You’ve got to remember that these are just simple redditors. These are people of the land. The common clay of the interwebs. You know…

dilligasatall,

Especially considering it’s been a DoD problem for many, many years now. The audits they talk about in the article date back to as far as 2017… this isn’t a new issue.

dilligasatall,

Marj’s ex husband has been asking himself that same question for a long time.

dilligasatall, (edited )

Is it a coincidence or is that the same person that was attacking lemmy a few weeks back for revenge on getting booted?

Edit: yup it is.

dilligasatall,

According to some users on r/redditalternatives some people have already been shadowbanned for posting lemmy links.

I just want to point out that if you use one of those comment deleter apps (powersuite, shreddit etc) they cannot delete comments from private subs as they are hidden. So if you tried deleting your stuff while subs are marked private those comments will not be deleted and will reappear on your profile once the sub(s) go back to normal mode. (at the time I'm writing this, there's still 3600 subs currently dark according to https://reddark.untone.uk/ so if you commented in any one of them marked private you'll have to wait for them to come back to public mode to erase them.)

Also, when they do come back they won't always show up normally in your profile. I've had to flip between hot/new/controversial a few times to see them all as they pop back up.

dilligasatall,

When you use a comment deleter app they cannot delete comments from subs marked private. (They're hidden) So if you ran a deleter app in the last week while the subs were protesting a lot of your comments wouldn't have been axed on the participating subs. Once the subs come back to normal from private mode, you'll see those comments appear even though you thought you deleted everything. I've had over 200 comments come back from as far back as 11 years ago due to that.

dilligasatall,

I'm one of the reddit refugees. To be honest I didn't think the protest would make it very far, although I was hoping it would. It looks like reddit got a black eye out of it but that's about it... nothing substantial.

That is fine by me. I was considering killing my two 10yr old+ accounts there anyway, and in the process I found this place, which I quite like to be honest. It's a little janky and rough around the edges to be sure, but any of you that remember how reddit was back in the day know it was the same thing at one point. Lemmy has serious potential to become great, lots of work needs to be done but it looks like a lot of talent is already here to fullfill that potential. Growth is great, but if things grow too fast problems do too.

I look forward to seeing the true potential of what Lemmy can become, and I hope I can be useful in some way to help that happen and be part of it.

Free Car Service Manuals from Operation CHARM — No strings attached! (charm.li)

I hope this is the right place to post this. I came across this site a few months back while looking up info on my daughters truck. Digital repair manuals for most cars and light trucks from 1982 to 2013, thanks to the fine folks at charm.li It has helped me out a lot, hopefully it'll help a few of you too.

dilligasatall,

The worst part is the silly over priced fridges you buy probably won't even last 10 years anymore. Sure they're more efficient, but if you have to replace it every 10-15 years, is it really worth it? I'd sooner have a slightly less efficient fridge that I know will last than one that can show me ads and look fancy.
