Wondering how much of the Lemmy user base wouldn’t use an adblocker. If you do use one what other blocking do you use to circumvent data collection, YouTube and reddit front ends and things alike?
Ads are what have been keeping the internet largely free. They don’t really bother me anyways. Both the creator/site/company and the consumer benefit from this transaction. If the ads make the experience unbearable though, easy enough to simply disengage from it.

Is this cruel though? Funny as hell but I don’t think these animals are under any duress. I assume the smart one just has his pincher glued to the pen as someone writes. The weightlifter one is probably confused as to why it has a pole glued to his pinchers no harm done? Not a crawfish expert but I cannot imagine it being any different to posing your dog driving a car.
Lot of didn’t-read-the-article-itis in here. FBI seized his physical storage, cloud was the only option for the journalist and it did not make financial sense to pay for multiple cloud backups. Google is entirely the bad guy here.

From what I recall, it’s not that KW is made to hook the Jemmies, but rather the Jemmies are genetically engineered to find it irresistible. The rise in memes is likely because of the recent Lower Decks episode where Mariner implies she has taken it.
I think it’s fine on Lower Decks since they make it funny. I hope no one thinks we need another episode like the one from TNG season 1 where Data does the deed.
