Is there any documentation out there for implementing a ”dark site” in Drupal? Not a dark theme, but rather a site that’s on standby and has a way to quickly switch over to it? Maybe it could use a better name, like failover site. @ethicaldetergent Are you looking for a site that is identical to the replaced site? Or just a temporary site? The switch over is simply a DNS change, so not really Drupal. But keeping two codebases, file repositories and DB’s in sync is a different matter. That said, there are lots of ways to recreate that wheel.

@ethicaldetergent Great article, though I don't think 'getting off the island' and 'dogfooding' are necessarily opposites. And the DrupalCon registration system is awful!
