I have my guest bath torn down to studs. A new cast iron tub went in. I had to replace a few termite-eaten studs from who knows when. The house is 60 years old. I’m working on putting it all back together now. New insulation, then drywall and backer board. Then, moving on to the shower tile. Also, I have to schedule a new stone top for the vanity and get a new sink and faucet. Then, texture and paint all the walls and finally replace all the floor tile in the area. I started a week ago, but it’s all moving quickly. If I can keep up the momentum, maybe I will be finished in a month.
Conan Exiles. I've had it in my library for ages but never gave it much thought. I'm having a lot of fun building my fortress and converting the locals to be my thralls.
Kena Bridge of Spirits. I'm so glad I tried this game. It's quite good. The gameplay is similar to Horizon Zero Dawn and the story line touches the heart. I grabbed it free using PS plus premium.
Exactly this. I work in IT and when looking for an answer I would Google search my question followed by Reddit and normally find a post with the answer I needed. I hope Sysadmin here becomes just as active.
What game mechanics do you enjoy or that surprised you when playing a game? I recently started playing Tunic and I love building out the "manual" for the game and getting hints on how to play.
Actraiser. That game was my favorite when it came out. Part Sim part platformer. Blew me away as a kid. I still give it a play through every few years.
I just deleted my account which was over 10 years old. I don't need that kind of negativity. Only positivity from here on out. Keep being awesome Lemmy.
I should probably go to bed at this point. I typed up a short story of my arduous attempts at defending an outpost in the STALKER modpack GAMMA and how my game crashed when I turned in the quest. Sent off that post and woe-is-me, the entire text didn't get submitted and I didn't have it saved in copy-paste. It's just so...
I have been branching out into genres that I normally don't play. Having fun in Divinity Original Sin and Stellaris. Taking time to learn something a bit more complicated than just shooting stuff blindly.
I've been in and out of so many different jobs. Usually I get to a point where I burn out and just can't go in anymore. Best job I ever had was as a tour guide in a distillery telling people facts all day and working with what I now realise was a whole bunch of other neurodivergent people. Only left that because I wasn't paid...
IT Swiss Army Knife. My current position is in Infrastructure but I dabble in SQL, Azure, AWS, Kubernetes, team management, MDM, etc. The infrastructure here is solid and requires little maintenance so I'm sometimes glad to have other areas to work in. I'm looking for a move soon to something less all over the place and focus on more on Azure as a whole. Something remote would be nice vs. coming to an office on the daily to work in nothing but cloud services.
90 percent of my day currently is working in Azure portal and PowerShell. I commute 20 miles to the office to do this. Upper management says we need to be on site because we are team oriented. And teams need to be present to work well together. The other 10 percent of my day is complaining with my team.
So lets say hypothetically you had to watch a movie right now. Obviously you're gonna pick something you've seen before, and is pretty entertaining. What would you pick? Or maybe a movie thats better with friends? Idk just give me good movies
I used to run 2 hp proliant servers. One Proxmox and one truenas. Now it's just one old AMD PC running Ubuntu server with some dockers. My electric bill is thanking me. About to move it all to an Intel NUC and downsize even further.
I often think about stellar albums. The ones where they're really isn't a skip-able track. Off the top of my head, these come to mind: The Beach Boys Pet Sounds, Collective Soul Collective Soul (blue album), Bush 16 Stone, and Green Day Dookie. What are some of your perfect albums?
Love loved loved Battleborn. Nothing like it to my knowledge other than Gigantic which also died. The combo FPS / Moba was super fun. RIP Battleborn you died before you even took off.
Beautiful games?
Suggest some beautiful games. Genre doesn’t matter. 3d or 2d no big deal. Hyper Light Drifter, Satisfactory, Cliff Empire, etc....
What's a good game you played with an awful tutorial?
Either it didn’t teach you anything at all, or it taught you the most irrelevant parts of the game.

This is a really old build and paintjob. I want to make a new, much improved one someday. A long list of future projects.
