my laptop has become extremely unstable and is deteriorating fast, it's possible I'll be able to fix it but it's an incredibly invasive and difficult disassembly so there's no guarantee, and either way I desperately need a new computer, because it's how I do like. literally everything, art, gamedev, streaming, etc., every way for me to make money

currently, all of my money is going into my current living situation, so I've been unable to save much in awhile, so I simply do not have funds for a new computer

I want to replace it with a desktop, both so it's easier to repair in the future than this thing has been, and to get something more powerful. the laptop is a gaming laptop, but it's 8 years old, so pretty much anything on the market now is going to be better

but in any case I just don't have the funds for this at all rn, so if anyone can spare anything for this, I am extremely appreciative!

when I see examples on the California DMV bot of people writing inappropriate things and trying to pass them off as innocent, I can only think of a thing I saw years ago on the Nintendo Life forums

I don't remember how the topic came up, but this user called WiiDSmoker came under scrutiny for having a username against the rules (as in, it's clearly a drug reference, it clearly looks like 'weed smoker'), and they said no, it's just my three favorite things, the Wii, the Nintendo DS, and the band Moker

I think the very most telling thing people do with lgbt stuff is when you have children's media that has the most cut and dry description of lgbt identities, and they go like, "this thing is encouraging kids to become trans" or gay or whatever and its like. it is true that people will be more likely to discover that they're trans or gay or etc. if they know that's a thing that exists, but the mere knowledge is not a cognitohazard of some kind, if someone is cis and/or straight it's not going to convert them somehow, so it really just tells on them extremely plainly that they just don't want anyone lgbt to exist lol

I think the simplest explanation for why asking an AI for information is so bad is that it doesn't have the concept of not knowing something, it only gives answers, it won't say "I don't know", it just answers, it'll just say whatever, because it doesn't actually know anything, it just says words in response to other words
