flyboy_146,

Hopefully, this doesn’t break rule one and/or two too much. If so, let me know and I’ll delete.

I think I know a little more than you about French president Macron, but if so, not by much. So here’s the blind arguing with the blind!

Full disclaimer, this is a copypasta of the answer I got from an AI assistant:

Certainly! Let’s explore both perspectives on French President Emmanuel Macron:

  1. Positive Perspective: Emmanuel Macron, as the French President, has made significant strides in positioning Europe as a more assertive global power. His vision for a united Europe, especially during the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, demonstrates his commitment to international stability and cooperation. Macron’s close cooperation with other world leaders, such as United States President Joe Biden, highlights his dedication to addressing global challenges, including climate change and defending democracy. Furthermore, his efforts to rejuvenate France and prepare it for crises underscore his determination to lead effectively on the world stage. Macron’s energy, international presence, and rhetorical vision have garnered him support both domestically and internationally.
  1. Critical Perspective: However, Macron’s presidency has not been without controversy. His perceived elitism, stemming from his background in finance and top universities, has alienated some segments of French society. His centralization of power and occasional gaffes, like telling an unemployed gardener to “cross the road” to find a job, have fueled class-based resentment. Additionally, his polarizing effect during the “yellow vest” protests and the visceral rejection he faces from part of the population mirror the challenges he encounters as a leader. While Macron scores well in polls on competency and presidential stature, his presidency remains divisive.

In summary, Macron’s impact on the world stage is multifaceted, with supporters praising his global vision and critics highlighting his perceived elitism and class-based tensions. Ultimately, whether he is a good president for the world depends on individual perspectives and priorities.

That’s what I used to help myself determine if you were a little too harsh on him. I thought it could be beneficial to share, but like I started this response with, if this is frowned upon, I’ll happily remove this!

flyboy_146,

It really is unfortunate. 🫤

When asked for his view of what happened, Albon said he was trying to back off once he realised he was in Ricciardo’s blind spot, but couldn’t help avoiding the contact. “I had a grip advantage [on soft tyres], kind of surprised [with] the grip I had out of [Turn] 2, and was able to pull underneath him and have a good run into 3,” Albon explained. "More about just trying to get him a little bit off line [at Turn] 3 and try and find a way for 4, 5, 6, 7 - to see if I could upset his line a little bit. "Obviously just one of them. He didn’t see me, clearly. I tried to back out of it last minute. “There was a moment where I realised he hadn’t seen me here, the way he’s pulling across, so I hit the brakes and tried to get out of it.

“But I was almost too far alongside him and he still was coming across, I couldn’t avoid it.” With no spare car available until Miami, Williams is continuing to walk on eggshells while its pool of spare parts dwindles. “It’s no secret that we are having a tough time with it at the moment with the parts we’ve got,” Albon acknowledged. This is going to hurt us for sure.”

flyboy_146,

I’m not super familiar with the whole affair, but aren’t these subs the “dagger” that is stuck in France’s back?

Just curious.

Also, he ended up with a bullet in the head. 😶

“We don’t know if he’s going to make it in the next 24 hours," Matthew Malinowski told NBC News by phone in his first public comments. “He was shot in the head.”

City Manager Marnie Cluckie added that the city can’t access the data, since it’s encrypted, but that they have a backup in place.

“All evidence at this point and based on what our cyber experts are telling us is that while it’s encrypted it hasn’t been removed from the organization, it hasn’t been taken and therefore it hasn’t been compromised,” Cluckie said.

When it comes to getting services back online, she said fire and paramedic services, along with anything safety-related, are priorities. Meanwhile, the city is still working to contain the breach and rebuild its IT system.

“It’s not over yet,” Horwath said, noting the long path to restoration still ahead. “Those bad guys are still out there.”

flyboy_146,

The revelation of an attempt to interfere over the penalty decision is the latest in a series of controversies to embroil Ben Sulayem since being elected in December 2021. Most recently, the FIA launched a compliance inquiry into Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff and his wife Susie on the basis of claims in a magazine of a conflict of interest. The inquiry was withdrawn after just two days, following angry interventions from Mercedes, F1 and the other nine teams, who all said they had not made a complaint. Insiders say that the FIA may face legal action over the Wolffs matter. A series of controversies through 2022, Ben Sulayem’s first year in office, led to widespread concern in F1 about his presidency and calls from senior figures for him to be replaced. After pressure over the winter of 2022-23, Ben Sulayem said he would take a step back from direct involvement in F1, saying it had been his “stated objective to be a non-executive president”. The controversies included but were not limited to: Blocking for six months an agreement between the teams and commercial rights holder to double the number of sprint weekends for 2023 Receiving a “cease-and-desist” letter from F1’s lawyers following his reaction on social media to a story claiming Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund had tried to buy the sport for $20bn The emergence of a historical website that quoted him making misogynistic remarks Ben Sulayem has said his intervention over the sprints was to ensure the FIA had sufficient resources to handle the change; he has not commented on the cease-and-desist letter. He defended historical sexist remarks on his website in an interview with the Press Association last November, saying: "What did I say, if I said it? Let’s assume it was [me]. I tell you exactly what it said. It says: ‘I hate when women think they are smarter than us’. But they hate when men think they are smarter than them. “Did I say we are smarter? No. Did I say they are less smarter? No. For God’s sake, if that is the only thing they have against me, please be my guest, you can do worse than that.” A number of senior figures have resigned from the FIA in recent months. These include Steve Nielsen, who took on the role of sporting director in early 2023 and resigned before he had spent a year in his role; the head of the women’s commission Deborah Mayer; Gerd Ennser, the head of German motorsport’s authority the ADAC, who quit his role as an FIA steward; lawyers Pierre Ketterer and Ed Floyd; and FIA single-seater director Tim Goss. None of these figures have given public explanations for their departure from the FIA. Goss, a former McLaren technical director, took a job as chief technical officer of Red Bull’s RB team.<

** The sharing of biased and false news has become all too common on social media. More alarming, some media outlets publish these same fake stories without checking facts first!

The two dogs I had were easily taught to wait on the floor mat right by the door. Once someone wiped their paws with a towel they would proceed forward. 🤷🏼

flyboy_146,

And by naval gunfire no less! At a stationary truck. At a check point!

flyboy_146,

I’m almost afraid to ask but, you have first hand experience with ‘deep lacerations from being tied up with rope’?

flyboy_146,

In my opinion, that is downright fascinating!! 😮🤯

It's a very special anniversary for me: I haven't had solid food in my stomach for six months as of 9:30 this morning. [This is a very long rant, please no medical advice.]

Before I begin- Again, please no medical advice or suggestions. I am going to the Mayo Clinic in March and I will get their advice and I am just going to ignore any medical advice posted, sorry. Please no pity party either, I’m just angry and need a a place to rant and vent, that’s it. Feel free to ignore this post and move...

flyboy_146,

As someone with a medical cannabis prescription for chronic pain, and absolutely no medical background, I fully agree!

flyboy_146,

Holly crap Denmark! 😮

If you are from Denmark, I hope you are proud of your leader. I almost am for you! To me, Denmark is showing more leadership and courage then just about all the rest of the planet right now. 👍🏼🫡

Thank you!!

flyboy_146,

I’m not sure it’s a case of " we’re sending our cops overseas to train with war criminals" or a the case of one of our many LEA organizations displaying a lack of judgement. Regardless of how bad the error was, it’s still just one of several and acted alone.

At least, that’s how it seems to me. But I haven’t read anything else than your quote on this topic, so there is that… 🤷🏼

flyboy_146,

For anyone who, like me, might not have been aware of that YouTube video.

Immortals of Aveum launched in August 2023 amidst one of the busiest years of game releases in history, bookended by behemoths like Diablo 4, Starfield, and Baldur’s Gate 3. Ascendant Studios’ self-styled “Call of Duty with magic” experiment was compelling enough, and I personally think it deserved more attention, but it ultimately missed EA’s expectations by enough of a margin that about 45% of the studio’s workforce was laid off shortly after release.

Oof! That must be hard to stomach. Knowing it’s actually a quality product, but because the stars didn’t line up, you are let go…
