Having set up a few guitars in my time, I have to say this is the first time I’ve tackled setting the action (aka string height) on an acoustic guitar. Quite daunting, given sandpaper is involved. Plays much better now!

Just downloaded the Tusks app created by @bardi. I’m planning to use this for public journalling, mainly about stuff that I’m working on. Apologies in advance for the sudden increase in questionable value content. I suspect it’ll last a week and then normal service will be resumed. First impressions of the app are good. Reminds me of Birdhouse. Really nice to be able to see only my posts, and focus on writing, rather than responding

Been doing some physical esoteric coding… bought a #TuringTumble a couple of christmases ago, and it’s been languishing under the sofa for a little while now. It’s good fun!

A white board with blue and red ball bearings racked at the top. The board is covered in green and red levers which make a path for the balls to drop down. At the bottom are two levers which release either a blue or red ball. The “program” is started by pressing the blue lever. After a while, a ball is captured, halting the program. The output is three blue balls followed by three red balls.

It is my firm opinion that Boys Don’t Cry by The Cure is a nearly perfect pop song. Hardly an ounce of fat on it. It tells a story, delivers a hooky chorus, has a middle 8, and fair whizzes along in - done in 2 and a half minutes. Just brilliant.
