I'm think I'm at a weird watershed moment right now.

I could really try to dive in and integrate more, or I could start working on preparation to establish myself somewhere more accepting.

I don't have the energy for both. And I've moved close to 40 times in my life, so I really need to pick a course and stop this madness.

Note: Switzerland is a notoriously hard place to integrate, especially if you've no family ties (my ex does NOT count), are not at a place like a uni, etc. I'm in my early 50s, so it's that much harder because I have no shared background and most folks have their social needs met.

I legally (without a green card) can't go back to the US, and I'm fairly sure I don't want to given the chaos since I've left is the reason I did leave, but man... it is a MUCH easier place to start anew.

And these days, there aren't too many places to go where the facism isn't flourishing and where it's safe for a trans family member.

So I spoke Dutch before German, I probably mentioned that.

Practically speaking, that meant I usually understood words and sentences, but not idioms in German.

So the first time I met my ex's mother, she tells him "Leck mich am Arsch" in front of me, and I can't tell she's being sarcastic, and I was VERY much "WTAF????"

I wish Switch had a Wii Fit variant.

Yeah, I know it has Wii Sports, but I actually found Wii Fit helpful.

Can't find my old Wii now anyway, and probably it wouldn't work since Nintendo shut a bunch of network stuff down anyway, but still.
