Went out into the garden to cheer myself up. The jungle is really getting going now. It needs so much work and honestly, I just can't manage it out. At least the bees love it. Rain started. Mission to cheer myself up failed. Ah well.

Snow is summer....a low growing plant with grey/pale green stems, covered in lots of little white flowers. A couple of forget me nots can be seen. Lots of other random plants starting to grow. A very old, faded fence is in the background.

Good morning fellow Mastos and hello Tuesday. Another warm but cloudy day forecast for today. Yesterday's was the same and it turned out to be blue skies, sunny and 6°C hotter than forecast!

Have an absolute belter of a day folks, enjoy what you do, have fun and stay safe. Bad puns and dad jokes are a bonus!

I rather enjoyed doing this little squirrel by Vivid Stash. The tartan is called Stash Tartan and is registed in The Scottish Register of Tartans.

Who needs red squirrels when we can have tartan squirrels 😉

Morning folks, I am shattered and ouch. Yesterday was a fab day, a long day though on very little sleep. Going to bed at 1am wasn't my brightest move, on the plus side, I slept until 6am....so yay 😂
Todays plans involve stitching and Netflix. I do have a few things to do with the child this morning, but not huge energy consuming ones. Today, I refuel!

I love this.
I am a solitary creature.
I am thriving now I have accepted my isolation (mostly), I needed rest, time, space. So I could learn how to laugh again.
I will still be in my hermit cave though 😉

Wearing my fave boots & pants again. Both are super comfy & both are my fave colour - #purple 😊

Side of backyard #SoilRemediation area is doing well! My cover crops mixes are choking out the fugly colonial non-native grass. I have native grasses in my homemade mixed cover crops mix. This area that I'm standing on was dead zone for years because of hard clay blocking plant growths. It took me 3 yrs to get soil healthy enough to grow more diversity!

@msquebanh It makes me so happy seeing people do this to their gardens. One of my neighbours put down fake grass and I almost cried. My garden supposedly has a patio surrounded by very wild flowerbeds, I pretty much leave it to do its thing now and get so many bees, visiting birds. My neat neighbours hate it, but I don't care.

@msquebanh I approve of that!
We have a "village in bloom" committee, they are so picky about everything being perfect. I got into an argument about one of their members strimming grass in a public area, I told him a lot of wild flowers were growing there, asked him not to cut it. His response was "well who planted the wildflowers? We have a dedicated area in the field for them"...oh boy, I had to explain to him how seed could carry on the wind or through bird droppings and new flowers appear 😂

@msquebanh Thats really positive to hear.
I stay in a small village, with a very backwards mindset, everything must be neat, we must all do as so and so says. I stay in my family home, when my mum died, I took over...and I refused to bend to the wishes of the village, I will garden my way...they don't like it, but they can go whistle. Even if I do get stressed at the hate I get from the locals 😂

@msquebanh I'm organised but chaotic, I spent years bending to suit other people. I don't have to now, so I won't and I sure as hell won't spend money or precious energy conforming to the village way of gardening!

Okay, its a terrible picture and its not ironed cause its way too hot to iron. The pattern is straight, fabric is just bundled up under it.

by . Stitched on white 16ct aida fabric, using approx 370 metres of black DMC thread, 6 needles used. Final stitched area is - 55cm wide and 69cm high.

This was a labour of love, a challenge, a reward to myself, part of my journey.

Its done now.

@DoubleTreble @crossstitch Our local charity shops don't tend to have really big frames in. I'm tempted just to buy a length of wood and make my own frame....with my absolute zero woodwork skills 😂

@johnvan54 @crossstitch If I do Pandemic, its going to be an absolute mismatch of colours. A friend donated all his mums threads to me, so for Pandemic, I am going to use them all...they might clash and be random, but it will be bright and chaotic! Repeating patterns are not my favourite though. I think I have fabric for pandemic, but not sure. I have Forest Witch all kitted up, had to do that while I had money cause it was expensive!
