Chikoo cat has a prolapsed rectum, all vets in nearest town are either unavailable or don't handle these cases. Leaving on a ~5hr (x2) drive. It's 1.5hr to town, then a 3.5hr cab from there to the next vet. It's gonna be a long day.

Chai Trail

If you've traveled by road around India, you have likely had chai along the way at various tea stalls. Yes, some places sell beverages that don't deserve to be called chai, and some punch you in the tastebuds out in the middle of nowhere! A fedi client that works the way @thunderbird works with emails: fetch, filter and cache posts. Additionally, use fav/star, bookmarks, replies etc. to train the filters.

I've observed that I don't stay online all the time and prefer to have a look when taking a break.

A client that surfaces posts I prefer to engage with, computed locally on data stored within the client, might give me more opportunities to participate.

As a caturday gift, the boisterous cats managed to drop my monitor from my desk a third time - while it was untethered (it's usually tied to a shelf to prevent just this) - as I took a break between cleaning the desk. A nice big crack on the left corner means I cannot see or access most menus on MacOS. Sigh. I don't want to buy another, but a day of trying to ignore the cracks and lines has made it clear I cannot use it as it is.

When brain is tired, one of the first things to go offline is the ability to judge one's capacity to perform the task at hand.

I have an effective hack for myself that hasn't failed me in years of solo all-night driving/ #motorcycle riding: if I go over a speed bump without slowing down gradually, it's time to stop at next fuel station or cafe and take a 20 minute nap. No ifs, no buts. I've taken those 20 minute naps merely 15 minutes away from home (at the end of 18hr rides), no regrets.
