I don't like to make a constant huge deal of it because the world concentrates too much on numbers and the baggage around them, and constant running totals are probably bad all up, but this morning I hit a 30kg weight loss.
Left, September 2023. Right, today. Also yes I am fifty something and my mother bought me a bun hoodie.
I was watching a YouTube tutorial on running nix on macOS, nodding along and impressed by defining a setup using a flake file, and then the person said "and now we're going to install homebrew using nix because there are packages in there that aren't in nix” and I nope'd out so hard.
Sorry everyone, including the @AusSocialMods!! I was sleeping, but my computer wasn't, so when the browser tab went to refresh containing the Cloudflare Worker was accessed, it ran the script and kept doing it. At least that's what I think happened, I don't know why else it would have been triggered except for the browser tab refreshing after being left open too long.
I'm finding the best reaction I can give to new tech right now is, "I don't care." or "I'll check it out when I feel I need to." there's very little really pushing new things in a way I'm truly interested in at the moment.
e.g: I missed the iPad event because getting up at 5AM in NZ for a product advert, for something I don't need right now, would've been a silly idea.
A lot of what Apple does, isn't motivating me like it once did. They're still the least worst option for me right now, though.
@dave Yeah Apple's whole product character has changed. It's been slowly changing for years. They've always had an element of ‘shiny tech toy' but lately that's become a much more dominant theme. The ‘bicycle for the mind' part's obscured.
@bazscott this is the ultimate solution: all uni to be free entirely and they to waive all the existing debts.
I get frustrated by the cynical types who only see uni as a way to get a job — and that some degrees are therefore not valid (some of the most expensive and difficult degrees are the poorest paid jobs)
