Does DJI still demand to be online every X days in order to let you fly?

Hi guys! My modded Mavic Pro is on its last legs, after 7 years of rather good use. I’m starting to consider it might die soon, and I might want to buy a replacement. But, I’d like to know how is the privacy situation with DJI these days. Do they still demand your app to check-in online every few days in order to upload your...

iturnedintoanewt,

Whatsapp link previews are rendered at meta servers. They could display any propaganda or fake news warnings they wanted on those previews.

iturnedintoanewt,

Well… I did. And i can still say that first Steam app was a steaming pile of crap.

Jellyfin: Can I disable HEVC playback on ONE device?

So, the issue at hand is, I have a Chromecast 4K with Jellyfin Android TV on it. And most of my library is x265/HEVC. But, whenever playing from this specific device, it will natively take HEVC, but with exoplayer library it plays kinda like a slideshow, at about 5-10FPS. Choosing VLC should be ok, and forcing a transcode will...

iturnedintoanewt,

Thanks…I was looking onto that, but I don’t think I’ve seen the option to always transcode x265 back to x264…Unless the device truly can’t. But if it can decode, it’s preferred, and I’m not sure there’s an option to change that.

iturnedintoanewt,

I didn’t see an option to disable x265, sadly. There’s a bunch of transcoding options, but seems this wasn’t considered, unless the device didn’t support it.

iturnedintoanewt,

Thanks…but I don’t want to block all other users/devices from using x265 just because that one single device :(

iturnedintoanewt,

Problem is, this really seems to be a real “witch hunt” chase. This method by the way already worked to take down the vice president on the previous legislature in Spain, chasing court cases based on fake proof, that in the end and after many years of useless investigations and harassment, were closed due to lack of any proof. But not before they forced the VP to resign due to the personal (and his wife’s) continuous attacks. So, in short…this method…works.

Amnesty: World seeing near breakdown of international law amid wars in Gaza and Ukraine (apnews.com)

The world is seeing a near breakdown of international law amid flagrant rule-breaking in Gaza and Ukraine, multiplying armed conflicts, the rise of authoritarianism and huge rights violations in Sudan, Ethiopia and Myanmar, Amnesty International warned Wednesday as it published its annual report....

iturnedintoanewt,

So all the other wars/CIA murders were by the book?

iturnedintoanewt,

Thanks a lot! It doesn’t seem to overlay a translation over a live image, but the picture translation is rather effective.

iturnedintoanewt,

Not using apple devices, sadly.

Server behind CGNAT - Reverse VPN? Or how to bypass?

So…in a short sentence…the title. I have a server in a remote location which also happens to be under CGNAT. I only get to visit this location once a year at best, so if anything goes off…It stays off for the rest of that year until I can go and troubleshoot. I have a main location/home where everything works, I get a...

iturnedintoanewt,

Thanks…I use my own home server, so I’d try to avoid the VPS part if I can, and directly re-address it to the home server, as I already have that one with a working fixed domain etc.

iturnedintoanewt,

I…logged a ticket with them, they promised they’d get back to me within 48h. I’m not holding my hopes too high.

iturnedintoanewt,

Thanks…I think I have now both containers in the home and remote servers within the tailscale network, showing their own IPs. This will make the site accessible via SSH, if I get this right. I’m not sure though how to route whichever remote server I build to the home network

iturnedintoanewt,

THanks…I haven’t tried Tailscale yet, I think I’ll get the “easier” commercial version just yet for this. Still learning on this.

[Help] Cemu gets no input on SteamOS. But Desktop/Big Picture works?

Hi guys! I’m going on a trip where I’ll have a bunch of kids playing Mario Kart on my Steam Deck. (Full setup, connected to a TV and a bunch of controllers…last year they had a blast). I just was testing this before the trip: Seems the Steam Deck’s input is not being…registered on the game? I can’t control anything....

iturnedintoanewt,

Wait-wait-wait…This is weirder. So, it’s not like the input doesn’t work. It just doesn’t work…for the first 3-4mins. Mario Kart stays on the title. While I was checking websites for troubleshooting ideas, I could hear Mario saying the “Mario Kart eiiiight”, which is what happens when you actually press a button. And now it works. This is…replicable. If I start the game again, it will idle at the logo screen ignoring me until for some reason…it starts working. ANy idea what might be causing this??’ The deck is set to Cemu - Deck layout from valve.

iturnedintoanewt,

Thanks…this is a bit rushed, but I’ll try to install it alongside EmuDeck, which is what I was using last year when it all worked smoothly. I’ve had issues trying to get it to detect a new PS3 PKG file earlier this week, so I’m not so sure what’s up.

iturnedintoanewt,

Yeah, I experienced the controller disabled when other bluetooth controllers are connected before. But there were no controllers connected, it’s been a while since I used it hooked to a TV with controllers. What weirds me out is the…timeout thing. I’m not exactly sure what’s causing it. ANd then, I installed RetroDeck, which comes with its own instance of Cemu…this one doesn’t do it. It just kinda works. So…no idea what caused it on my EmuDeck Cemu :/

iturnedintoanewt,

Thanks for these tips! I had no idea it could install the outdated Linux version. I’ll have to check, I’d say it was the windows one. I’ll definitely check the gyro option, i think i did tamper with it for BOTW back in the day.

LOOK AT MY HORSE, MY HORSE IS AMAZING

Edit: oh… And this

Best deck games for a flight? (as in...possibly running on batteries)

Hi guys! So, yeah…Which games are good for a nice gaming session while on a flight? Last time I played one of the newer Tomb Raider games, and while performance was good, it decked (heh) the battery in less than 1h… So, while I like these too, if the flight doesn’t have a socket under the seat I might want to play games...

iturnedintoanewt,

Thanks! I’ve been playing a hat in time for a bit…looks promising! Will need to try the couch multiplayer, might be interesting!

iturnedintoanewt,

3 taps to turn it off? It was either one or two before…
