The problem with this setup would be there constant profile switching and the constant screen unlocking. These profiles aren’t too easy to switch/coordinate, IMHO.

Yeah well, my GrapheneOS Pixel 7 with gservices (not a choice for some banking apps) has the damn device lock controller app installed. I can’t remove it. At least Graphene allows me to revoke its network/location permissions, which, by the way, it had granted by default.

Remedy Entertainment. They have been making banger after banger in my opinion, all the way back to Max Payne (and i wasted so many hours on Death Rally). Always heavy focus on plot, and well developed gameplay. Memorable soundtracks on most cases too.
That’s good to know! Maybe the open source community can work something out. Google certainly won’t bother with what’s in essence the most purely offline functionality. It’s not in their interest to have phones offline (case in point, the update mentioned here).

Besides the ease of registration, the sync between devices make it easier. It can be frustrating not to be able to easily backup/restore/sync all your chats just like Whatsapp or Telegram. Yes, privacy/security, but i believe not everyone is chased by a state actor and you might want to have the option, as an opt-in maybe.

I’ve had up until now the more basic R1, then upgraded to two R1-Plus for me and my partner. These have been working very reliably for the last few years, but the weather hasn’t been kind...
Well they ain’t anything compared to your setup. Image quality is obviously way worse than a GoPro (you’re not getting anything cinematic out of this, just for safety/crash purposes), and audio quality won’t have the same noise-cancelling functions than a Sena or similar. But then again, their price isn’t even in the ballpark. These are much cheaper do-it-all devices, camera/bluetooth headset/intercom. Some like the R1 (pro model) and R3, both from the WiFi cameras section are supposed to be interoperable with other devices from other manufactures. But i am not sure the R1 plus (my current model) has it. At any rate i don’t ride with groups, only with my partner riding pillion behind, so on that limited scenario, they work rather well. Only minor inconvenience is I can’t hear both my partner and the GPS instructions at the same time, I’d like to have a mix/share option, which the R3 might have…and maybe a bit better image quality.
