I’ve been working on something that’s not WordPress for the past couple of weeks and each day I’ve been feeling slightly less burned out. Somewhat related, my Post Status renewal is coming up and although I think I may have still been grandfathered into the old price, I just don’t find any value in it anymore.

Moving forward. Let’s do this thing!

For me, the easiest thing in the world is to go to whatever conferences invite me to come. You know, as a reward for an awesome career I built. Instead, I’m doing the slightly-less-easier thing and choose to not go speak in places that are openly hostile towards LGBQT+ folks. @grmpyprogrammer @saramg @ramsey @derickr @Crell More seriously, Ben makes a great point. It’s hard to leave a place you love because the tides are turning against your own beliefs. If we find it hard to visit (and I do, for reasons already stated), imagine what it’s like to live it daily?

Is there anything the rest of us can do to continue to build community in spite of what’s happening in these states?
