I'm noticing more interest in . During my interactions with customers, it pops up more frequently. ๐ŸŽ‰

However (there is a but), I've learned that there is an essential nuance within the different systems thinking schools. And that difference goes for how the school sees the relationship between the system and the environment.

The article details some of the technology of S3, but also the organisation structure and the overall evolution of software and teams. The so-called sociotechnical system(s).

This week, I was on a call with a customer who said: "Flow is the new euphemism for efficiency". The person talked about how folks grab and dilute a concept for the old status quo. In this case, we discussed fast in the context of @TeamTopologies.

๐Ÿ’ก This triggered a reflection: our industry, the IT industry, has an obsessive focus on efficiency. As Russel L. Ackoff said, "The more efficient you are at doing the wrong thing, the wronger you become".

๐ŸŽฏ I believe organisations need to embrace different ways to structure themselves, and what worked in the past is not enough today. The world is and ; an organisation only thrives if it recognises and embraces it. How they manage technology, how they budget and even how the hierarchy structures get in the way of the fast flow as presented in @TeamTopologies.

To add assault to injury, I feel that there is a trend in the industry that organisations can install @TeamTopologies as if it is a piece of technology or a process that you can deploy.
