Realizing #CAD tasks (#Blender) work well as escapism. You can lose yourself in such work, fully immersed in 3D design world, and hours will just fly by without notice.
Eventually I got a trial 3D print started and I've shifted back to a software integration task I've been neglecting. Made some progress there, so it wasn't a total escape today.
Turning my attention to supper now I think, while tending that rough first 3Dprint.
The focus of Lean is not to eliminate waste.
The focus of Lean must be to produce #flow in value creation, which will (among other things) lead to waste reduction. If you go straight for eliminating waste, you will not only miss the point.
You will also achieve much less impact.
Instead of a timer that counts down, it's a stopwatch that counts up. You focus and work until your concentration falters, then the length of the break you take is based on how long you focused. If you can get into the #flow state for 2.5 hours and you take 1/5 break time, then you take a 30 min break before starting your next session.
In the Northern Black Forest, sandstone is the most prevalent #rock on the surface. In some locations, such as rivers, the older #granite emerges, as seen here at the Gertelbachwasserfall. The photo was taken on a late winter afternoon.
This week, I was on a call with a customer who said: "Flow is the new euphemism for efficiency". The person talked about how folks grab and dilute a concept for the old status quo. In this case, we discussed fast #flow in the context of @TeamTopologies.
💡 This triggered a reflection: our industry, the IT industry, has an obsessive focus on efficiency. As Russel L. Ackoff said, "The more efficient you are at doing the wrong thing, the wronger you become".
