👋 Hello benevolent @eleventy overlord @zachleat. Is it possible to ask for a template format hook that would make @pauleveritt happy and open up a few more opportunities for 11ty? Currently all page render methods are expected to return a string value, but this leads to a lot of redundant processing in each page, for pages that return objects (cough JSX cough).
It would be nice if we could have a preprocess method that turns results into string.
@khalidabuhakmeh I feel like the desire to walk away from everything and move to a ranch off the grid is stronger in developers than other professions, though I have no data.
This was the most tepid applause I’ve seen for a big number. I think the #AI marketing is way off, because it's marketing to the in-crowd that understands what these numbers mean, but everyone else has no clue.
@khalidabuhakmeh How is it going so far? Doing mostly Java for now, I keep wishing I had extension methods and Func<A,B,C,D,R>. I drop some “throws Exception” here and there to imply that “shit happens”. I write get_it() and set_it() and weep a little.

@J_aa_p I get that China is pumping billions into the EV market to gain a monopoly, but to be honest, the American car manufacturers are asleep at the wheel. Not every vehicle has to be a military assault vehicle or a luxury one.
@khalidabuhakmeh True. And in my opinion China is doing nothing different then the US and EU. US/EU should (and could) make smaller and cheaper EVs. The whole focus on China as being evil is, again in my opinion, hypocrite and wrong. It's called capitalism, we should deal with it.
