Chucking an absolute rake of paper parking permits because they expired. What a waste. There is such a beautiful, simple, “build it once and it works forever” app that could handle this, but it will never be built, or at least not soon, because software procurement is so complex.

I think Github Actions entered its chef era where you try to achieve this seemingly simple thing and use a community action.

@janl I gave up on reading reviews for NAS appliances, and the disappointment with the choices vendors made.

So if all goes well, just a mini 2 disk NAS setup that can live in the living room without annoying me?

And if I am still disappointed, at least I know who to blame it on. 🙈

@janl it‘s a RockPro64 Gerät. With 4 GB RAM onboard. Currently booting off of a microsd card. I bought whatever was known to work according to the FreeBSD wiki.

Will probably spend another 100 bucks for emmc (which is supposedly better than microsd) and a sata adapter.

And then some drives?

Also pondering to just stick a single nvme on it. And call it done for now.

So I have an expansion slot for nvme already (because it was like 10 bucks). From what I understand it‘s either 1 nvme or 2 sata drives.

Do you have a rec for nvme? Something that’s durable. 🫣

(Potentially more SATA with port multiplier, but probably something I will avoid for now.)

Just finished a 2 player co-op run of #Factorio with the #AngleBob mod set.

While my friend hasn't played much classic before we still decided to go for the more complex playthrough, and it worked out great.

145 hours to launch the rocket and so much fun refactoring. The mod set is in a really good state, good pacing, lots of options to build big or clever, meaningful differences in approached.

Can recommend! (We tuned off Bob's Greenhouse to make it a bit more challenging /interesting)

I don’t know where the first part comes from. The link is not displayed with it.

All I see in Ivory is the bit after https://github.com/users/ — so it looks valid.

But when I click on it. It becomes the link prefixed?

Is this enough to bug hunt?

@ivory I just tested it, link is rendered correctly and is clickable via the Mastodon UI. I mean, it works as you'd expected.
