I’ve created a community for Mario Kart on Pretendo, so… come and join if you want and have plans on playing some MK7 and 8 online in the future. I have some minor plans for the community, so… yeah!

just leave a grub floppy in the machine and boot from there, you won’t even notice.

I don’t use any Apple products and am not planning to change this in the near future, but man, the stuff I’ve read and seen about the M chips did left me absolutely amazed.

I usually go with strange long animal names… like “Desert Cottontail”

My 3rd party Switch dock needs some strange ritual to actually work, but still not sure what the correct steps and orders.

It’s a fairly early 3rd party dock, from the times when there were articles about 3rd party docks blowing the Nintendo Switch’s charging IC or something like that.

Tho this dock works, but only if I plug in the charger, the HDMI cable and the Switch itself in the correct order. Otherwise no video, only just charging.

IIRC, the order is HDMI, charger and Switch, but I may be wrong, it was a while ago I used that dock.

Probably some funky device detection or bug in the dock’s code, but it’s amusing. Especially after others see me trying and trying and they are like that was the moment when I blew my Switch, but no.

There is one uncleared level remaining in Super Mario Maker, with 18 days to go before the servers shut down (www.issmmbeatenyet.com)

UPDATE: Ahoyoo has confirmed that Trimming the Herbs was uploaded with TAS tools, meaning that The Last Dance was the final legitimate level all along! Congrats to kazeihinn on the Last First Clear! The journey continues in Super Mario Maker 2…...

It would have also been as hard to TAS on the WiiU at the time than to just practice the level.

What do you mean by that?

in 2017, the Wii U was an already open book for homebrewers IIRC, that’s why I asked why considering TAS was almost no-go at the time.

thanks for thr write up though!

funny thing is recently I was toying with the thought to create an app exactly like this, to signal 15, 30, 45 and 60 minutes with one, two, three and (four + hour of day) beeps, just like a church/temple bell or grandfather clock…

but I don’t know if it exists already.

Just to give you some opposite example, WordPress, Magento, Drupal, Django are using salts almost 2 decades now.

Watership Down.

Also some Philip K. Dick books, like A Scanner Darkly and Eye in the Sky.

But I also enjoyed the Bartimaues trilogy so much when I was somewhat younger.

In a way, Squidward is really like Debian, if those two are Arch and NixOS. And as I grow older, I can relate to Squidward more and more…

no thanks, I reached the point in my life where I prefer stability, especially with my main machine. I love Debian, only because it’s Debian. 💛

Debian's Dilemma (sh.itjust.works)

[Image description: A fox-woman wearing a dress the color of the Debian logo is being pulled by the sleeves on one side by a gnu man and on the other side bu a penguin. She has an annoyed expression. The gnu man says: “Debian, why do you offer a non-free firmware repo? You’re so close to being one of the few fully free...

At first I just figured Debian should be a sophisticated looking lady with an old-ish style, both because it’s an old distro and because it has what I find to be the most elegant logo.

Finally, a representation of a linux distro not as a supergay/transgender femboy fox/cat/loli/shota.
