I just received a text message from someone claiming to be Andi Gutmans. It’s the same kind of CEO text message, where they claim to be in a meeting and need you to do something for them real quick. The thing is, I’ve never worked with Andi outside of PHP, so I think they’re targeting me based on data from LinkedIn, where it shows I “work for” PHP in my experience history.

I've been trying out Phanpy (@phanpy) as a desktop browser app for Mastodon, and it is awesome. Some really nice UX touches, e.g. showing external boosts in your lists -- nice way to discover more people to follow. So I have to take back a bit my comment about Mastodon having bad UX -- clearly the third-party devs are stepping up to the plate! (and yes, reminds me of old Twitter...but this time we know Mastodon is a truly open network).

Immunity is something else: This means essentially that he was forced to testify.

It works like this: If the DOJ gives use immunity, nothing he says can be used against him, so it's no longer possible to invoke the 5th Amendment.

(It's late so I'm not sure I explained it well.)

Twitter was able to change the logo of their iOS app but not the name, since Apple requires app names to be at least 2 characters.

They’re also still referring to the app as Twitter in the update notes (via
@sferik)
