Last year was marked by the revitalization of the Localization Team. We re-established regular meetings and started working on a number of issues, including decommissioning the old translation infrastructure with Pootle, which had become obsolete since the switch to Crowdin. Yesterday we had our latest meeting of the #TYPO3 localization team. We're making great progress on the tutorial videos. We are also working on getting a better overview of our Crowdin proofreaders. And we are delighted to welcome Katharina, who joined us for the first time yesterday and will hopefully continue to support us in the future!

Starting with the November edition of the Developer Appreciation Day blog post series all articles will now also include statistics from our awesome Crowdin translators!
In November, we had a staggering 44,865 labels translated! Hero of the month is Andrea Cay who translated nearly 38,000 labels into Spanish!
The blog posts also include the names of all translators.
Kudos to everyone, who translated. It's an easy way to contribute to #TYPO3 without any programming skills.

It's a wrap! Hamid and @cybersmog spent 3 days at the #TYPO3 Community Sprint in Düsseldorf to work on topics of the Localization Team:

• Storybook creation with Tom for the new tutorial videos
• Recorded a short video to attract more translators
• Conversation with @lolli to discuss ways to reduce the number of duplicate labels in the core
• Updated Crowdin profile description, team website & documentation
• Draft news article about Pootle server shutdown
• Many great conversations with others

After three years of voluntary #translation work for the #Arabic language our team member Abdulhamid Kwieder completed the translation of the entire backend of our amazing #TYPO3 CMS!
The TYPO3 backend is available in a lot more languages and many of them need help with translation. Want to join us? Feel free to reach out!
