GIANT stands for Goddard Image Analysis and Navigation Tool, and it is basically an optical navigation software. That’s right, it uses images snapped by cameras, lidar, and other sensors to find the best way forward, kind of like we humans do when we use our eyes to see where we’re going....
Does anyone know of a good privacy respecting (preferably FOSS) parental control app for Android? I’m trying to convince a friend to get a Pixel with GrapheneOS as their kids next phone but they won’t do it unless it let’s them control certain things....
Sorry, this won’t answer your question, but I would just let them use what they want. Unless they were interested in it originally, they will just resent you if anything goes wrong or if they have any trouble.
I think that’s what has surprised me the most. When I moved here after the API shutdown, things seemed pretty slow. But now it seems activity is really picking up. I would be very interested to see the fediverse growth rate vs. Reddit’s when it first started. I’m just surprised to see how quickly things are changing here.
Titled the “law of increasing functional information,” it holds that evolving systems, biological and non-biological, always form from numerous interacting building blocks like atoms or cells, and that processes exist - such as cellular mutation - that generate many different configurations. Evolution occurs, it holds, when these various configurations are subject to selection for useful functions.
It seems difficult to believe that this is as revolutionary as the theory of evolution. Does anyone know if there is any more “meat” to this theory?
If I’m a bot owner and I could pay $500/year to ensure my 500 bots run unfettered, it might be worth it. I can influence a significant amount of discourse with 500 accounts xitting, rexitting the original xit that was xit out, etc.
If he thinks he can make money from bot managers, it may make sense.
It will probably decrease trust in the whole xitty system, but maybe Musk doesn’t care?

I think you need a little more help with logic and reading comprehension before you respond so condescendingly.
OP’s point is that the technology will not create a paradise or hell. It is the political environment that does that. The technology is simply a tool that will be used.

I went the mini-computer route, like a NUC, and used an external HDD. I regret not having HDD bays for internal storage needs. I’ve been looking at used desktops (Optiplex for example) that would allow me to use internal HDDs easily.
Did you intentionally avoid reading the article? Or just shit posting? Do you have an ulterior motive for spreading misinformation?
They are investigating him for purchasing 9.2% of the stock without disclosing it appropriately. The article has good details, you might try reading it.
I believe they are referring to him buying a significant amount of stock and failing to disclose it, which is illegal. Then talking about buying it for a high price, then trying to get out of buying it after signing the deal. There were lots of shenanigans going on before the final purchase. That’s what this is all about.
Ogarkov decided to go to war at the beginning of the year, and applied to the military for a contract. He had been thinking about enlisting to serve in the so-called “special military operation” for a while, he says, clarifying that he had wanted to do so “for the children”....
Ogarkov maintains that the Wagner rank-and-file were never against Putin, and even trots out the “good tsar, evil advisers” argument when he says that Shoigu ensured the Russian president didn’t receive accurate information about the course of the war.
Interesting that internally it was portrayed as a march against Shoigu. I had always heard the match was against Putin. I wonder why Putin holds Shoigo so dear.
