He’s (surprisingly) demonstrated a willingness to actually get some things done. I never would have thought that he would given all we were hearing about him before, but he’s not been a complete roadblock to governing, so the question is do Dems take this small concession that he’s actually willing to govern or take a chance that the Republicans put someone in there who is more hostile and prone to standoffs.
I tend to agree, though. Politically, it doesn’t make a lot of sense for Dems to support him, or for Republicans to side with Democrats, which their base will absolutely loathe, so if he gets put on the chopping block it’s likely that no one will save him on either side.
I never played the games but was able to pick up enough through context clues about what each group is all about and generally what’s going on. I do have lots of questions about the specifics of each group, but I’m hoping that in future episodes (I am only a few episodes in) and seasons they flesh things out a bit more to fill in some of the more mysterious aspects of the show.
If your first instinct is to condemn this man for what he used to believe I would urge you to think about how we would ever go about affecting change without people like this who believe one thing, then see the error of their ways and change their mind. Sometimes a hypocrite is nothing more than a man in the process of changing.
I’m not advocating for praising him, but everyone is vilifying him for coming around to a different point of view. He’s growing as a person. Maybe not in the altruistic way that you’d like, but it’s still growth. If we stay up on our high horses insisting everyone do the right thing just because it’s the right thing and for no other reason then we’re going to be waiting a very, very long time for change.
Jeff Laubenstein is awesome and has done some great alters for me. He’s awesome to talk to at events.
Dan Frazier will always hold a special place in my heart because I wrote to him and a bunch of other artists when I was 10 or 11 and he was the only one to write back and answer my questions.
Victor Adame-Minguez did the art for Brutal Expulsion, which is a card that holds special significance for me.
Howard Lyon does some really phenomenal work and he’s another person who is really great to talk to at events.
Steve Argyle is an absolute madman when it comes to alters and sketches and he’s another really awesome dude to talk to at events. He’s so soft spoken and his artwork is so loud and I absolutely love that dichotomy.
My local food bank is my favorite place to donate and volunteer at. My friend also works as a CASA so I donate to them as well (link is for the national organization, but they’re may be a local group you can donate to directly). Other than that, look around your area for local nonprofits. There are lots of local charities that work with kids, help solve local problems, etc that can always use some financial help. There are several organizations that you can go to if you want to vet and check on the charities to make sure they’re legit.
I just got the jingle jam collection and started playing Godfall. Straight forward smack-em-with-a-sword game but lots of fun so far. Kinda reminds me of kingdoms of amalur. Hoping to try out a few more games from the collection as well as I’ve heard good things about quite a few of them.
I know the majority opinion is not to do it for various reasons, but basically I started to backup the majority of my dvd collection that I created over the years since I have the time and they were just collecting dust. Turns out though I guess I’m doing it “wrong” or at least not in the original quality since I used...
I use Plex. I have different libraries set up for movies, TV shows, educational videos, home videos, and during the pandemic it was great because my kids were doing dance class remotely, so I even set up a library so they could have all their dance class videos in one spot to practice their routines. I also organize my family photos there as well, which works out great to have those and the home videos all in one place. I can even give family members access to various libraries if they want to view family photos/videos, which has been handy as well.
Lots of people swear by jellyfin, but I’ve had so much success with Plex that I haven’t bothered to check it out. It’s probably easy enough to get a server for each up and running and see which you prefer.
I’m looking for a watch that can track my heart rate, stay on my tiny wrist, and that doesn’t cost a lot only to break frequently. These guys made some certified bangers. Trogdor, the strongbadia national anthem, tonight is alright for tonight, the cheats lightswitch rave… So many awesome songs!
I agree. I like the idea that there’s a trek for everyone. I love strange new worlds, but (initially) wasn’t really into the idea of lower decks, and that’s ok because I think it gives everyone something different to look forward to and avoid the problem of oversaturation. You can choose the shows you like and miss the ones you don’t.
That being said, I’m glad they did the crossover episode with lower decks because it made me give the show a shot and I ended up really liking it.
Attacking civilians is also plain and simple terrorism
So we’re in agreement that this is essentially two terrorist states fighting each other? And the biggest losers in all of this will be the innocent Israeli and Palestinian citizens who just want to live their lives in peace. Meanwhile Hamas and the Israeli state get to go back and forth playing the their sick game of race-to-the-bottom-of-the-morality-barrel trying to blow each other to smithereens.
Yeah, it sounds like a problem with a contributor to Shutterstock not following the terms of use. The person who put together the marketing materials for Loki was just using stock images. I don’t think it should be on them to enforce shutterstock’s TOU.
ive been using kodi (xbmc was better moniker) since google killed sagetv. i recall attempting plex, but it seemed to lack some open/extensibility (its been awhile)....
Same here. Plex just makes sharing with family so much simpler. My mom and dad can figure it out just as easily as my kids can and the amount of time I have to do tech support for anyone has been literal zero, which is a huge bonus for me, personally.
Yeah, I liked the gorn episode, but it kinda came out of left field. I mean, it didn’t help that in my head every time they would talk about the gorn in earlier episodes I would think of the dude in the green lizard suit, so I had this comical picture in my head of all these people being terrified of a guy in a silly outfit and was not mentally prepared for an alien remake…
