Question: Is there a way to refund you the 105USD?

Answer: I'd rather you make a MutualAid donation to some one else who needs it.
I am financially safe enough right now with my Disability Benefits (since January), which covers all my needs (care visits twice a week) that my partner shouldn't have to (but could) pay for.
Me and my partner at this point are secure in our financials (which we weren't when I started working with Tusky, nor during the beginning of the pandemic, as I was hit with student loan repayments after moving abroad, it was a whooole thing).
I am incredibly grateful for the offer, but I rather want the money to go to someone else in immediate need.

Someone could argue that you could donate to too. But what's the quickest way to actually help someone who needs it right now?
Are any of your friends in need? Help them out.

If anything really good could come out of this whole thing, I wish that we could fully fund several private crowdfunding goals to stay housed, to eat, for medical treatment etc.

Donate where you can. A lot of small or one big, doesn't really matter.

To join in this effort, I'll be donating my entire last payout from Tusky, in advance, to some people who I know need it.

I think my favorite part of the support for in this whole situation was that a lot of the responses weren't even "Tusky can do no wrong uwu" but "Dude, we have REAL problems! What are you even doing?!"

@ljwrites I didn't see ANY response that were like "omg Tusky can't do anything wrong" anywhere in my sphere.

I saw a lot of legitimate concern from our stakeholders and long time community members, as they should be when something like this comes up.

But I think ,the trust we've built up within the community for like what now, 6 years, 5 years with me, means that they felt like they could trust us to provide a response and explain what happened, one way or another.
We hold ourself acocuntable, we're pretty transparent when we can be.
But there's also a lot of severely limited people working on Tusky, and we give eachother that grace and space, and it's so obvious to me that our community undersrtood and saw that.

Like why else would you even bring ME on to work with Tusky in 2018, after all the shit that went down with Mastodon ?

At a recent meeting ( I believe I had already announced that I was leaving so in handover mode), we noted that no one was in capacity to run a crowdfunding campaign out of the people present.

But before I start reading, I want to thank @shortcake , @ljwrites and mcc111 at mastodon.social, for their aboslutely fucking amazing work on this one.

It's been a pleasure to watch. It's been the most amazing teambuilding i've seen in any project since back when I was in a hackercollective and we live collabed over Etherpad with an explosion of colors as people wrote their bits and pieces to put together.

Watching them zoom in and out of different documents and chat rooms, to work on all the pieces, and puzzle it together, absolutely mesmerizing. I've not slept much, because I've been elated and excited and just high on this energy that came back into Tusky after nik left on Sunday evening.

We all contributed, but they did the horsework, and considering their hourly wage they'd usually charge? Hoooo boy, This would've been incredibly expensive to pay for. Should Nik maybe consider paying for this labour? Because I do agree with him, it is important to support the marginalized voices in our community.

These 3 brilliant people absolutely crushed it. How do I know? Because I was in the room when it happened.

I have an issue where I started a game on my but the save file will not load via the cloud on my PC. It’s really annoying.

Anyone else ever have this issue and solve it?

I’ve logged in/out, turned off/on cloud saves, restarted both my Deck and PC… nothin’
