The fact that they chose to go to this length to fact check a comedy standup special is ridiculous in itself, but having to spin it to make him look worse by ignoring what he told them is really the icing on the cake.

The bigger issue for me is the anti-science stance so many are pushing/following now, but whenever one study comes out reinforcing what they already wanted to believe they pounce on it. That’s not how the scientific consensus works and that “methodological fetishism” fed right into it. We still need experts’ help to understand what’s significant.

In Seattle a paper found out that the police department supported defunding (moving certain responsibilities and their associated funds to civilian authorities)… but once people called for the same they started a massive campaign against it.

But the fact that these are “auto-generated” vs regularly uploaded doesn’t really change anything about the fact that there isn’t enough content moderation.

Unless somebody reports things, almost nothing is happening regarding questionable content. (Of course, they can scan for any known copyrighted material with great precision :p )
