Today I improved the user profile in #Vernissage (web) a bit. I added latest followers section, buttons for bookmarked and liked lists with photos. And other small changes and fixes.
Followed tags almost implemented in the #Vernissage. Great that @dansup has added this feature to the #Pixelfed API! Now tests and soon I will send new version to Apple 😊.
The screen for uploading photos is also clear and easy to understand. And it looks good (in my opinion) in both light and dark theme 😊. #Vernissage#VernissageWeb
I’m experimenting with grid of (square) photos on the user timeline in the #Vernissage. And I don't know. I'm not 100% sure that I want to deliver something like that. We can see part of the image, which I don't like and it's not so convenient for sensitive photos and for multiple photos (where we have a carousel) 🤔. What do you think?
New version of the #Vernissage has been sent to Apple. I’m really happy how reblogs (boosts) are working right now in the #Pixelfed. I hope you will be happy with the implementation in the #Vernissage 😉.
I’ve implemented two new features into #Vernissage. Users will have option to mute statuses boosted by some account (which is done in device) and I’ve improved list of trending accounts. Now accounts are taken from few different lists.
After few days of tests I will send new version to Apple 😉.
I added two new features to #Vernissage. New tag with information about muted boosted statuses and new setting: “Hide statuses without ALT text”. Now few days of test and I will release a new version 😊.
Web Push notifications implemented. Even on iPhone with application added on home screen (as a bookmark, PWA application) we can enjoy notifications 😎. Added push notifications for native applications should be super easy now.
@mgrzeca There is a new service VernissagePush: https://github.com/VernissageApp/VernissagePush. On GitHub there is an description how to install it. It’s a verys simple node express application with one endpoint (e.g. http://server.com/send). You have to specify there only one environment variable (for authentication purposes).
After three days of fighting with Angular SSR, reading a million pages, I finally managed to configure it. This makes VernissageWeb more SEO-friendly. Also Mastodon is able to correctly verify the user profile 😊.
With Angular SSR (server side rendering), I was able to add Open Graph meta tags. This allows Vernissage pages to be shown more interestingly than just a link 😉.
Small relax during #VernissageWeb development. Application badge is now supporter (when we receive any notification push counter is automatically refreshed) and I improved a little bit notifications screen. I’m super happy how notification pushes are working now 😊. This is must have feature for any social network platform. Am I right?
Next thing that I would like to implement (after the summer) is the “Photo book” (virtual photo book). Users will have option to combine photos in one set. And the presentation of that photos will be totally different than regular timeline.
I think photographers will like that feature 🫣.
I don’t want to recreate Instagram, Stories, TikTok or another platform. I have my own vision 😉.
Now I’m participating in Photo Summit Day 2024 in Wroclaw. I love photography. I love the whole process of taking photos (finding subject, taking photos and editing them) ❤️📸
I have to say that the depth of the new iPad Pro 11 is really impressive. It’s 0,8mm thinner than my iPad Air 4th. But it’s so noticeable. And the screen is awesome. But the lack of the charger is a failure.
