@zrb yes, #Vernissage will be an entirely independent image sharing platform (in the fediverse ecosystem). At the beginning for individual photographers or small groups of photographers. With limited functionality, focused on sharing photography.
Vernissage for Pixelfed will change his name to something different, maybe better 😉.
The screen for uploading photos is also clear and easy to understand. And it looks good (in my opinion) in both light and dark theme 😊. #Vernissage#VernissageWeb
Today I improved the user profile in #Vernissage (web) a bit. I added latest followers section, buttons for bookmarked and liked lists with photos. And other small changes and fixes.
@milan Ich finde #Vernissage ganz ok. Aber ich bin jetzt auch nicht so der Poweruser, trotzdem finde ich die deutlich besser als den Browser, und das es eine echte (aka non-Beta) native App gibt, wäre mir jetzt neu.
@mgrzeca I saw that you managed to run an instance of #Vernissage. That is impressive 🤩. If you see that I can improve the documentation somehow please let me know.
He vuelto a usar Pixelfed.
I assume, due to something on my timeline, I’m receiving this error that renders #Vernissage entirely unusable. The error popup (in blue) above started appearing each time I reloaded my timeline and no new posts get fetched to it, I then logged out and logged back in and I’m now getting this warning page in addition to that blue error popup. Can we figure out how I’d be able to use the app again? @vernissage@mczachurski
Version 2.0 of #Vernissage is available in the AppStore. This is a major update with new features and several bug fixes. The app now uses the new mechanisms introduced in iOS 17, making it compatible with iOS17 and later.
New features:
Display of a dot in the notification icon only for new notifications.
Application badge with amount of new notifications.
New list with muted boosts accounts.
New tips in several places.
Performance improvements and new animations when showing data.
I’ve implemented next cool features in the #Vernissage. One of them is application’s badge indicating new unread notifications (this can be enabled in application settings). Still not push notifications, but better than nothing 😉.
It’s the last feature which I want to implement in the new Version (2.0). Now I need some time for testing and I will send new version to Apple (really soon) 😊.
Today I introduced further bug fixes to #Vernissage. I have also added a coloured indicator to the notification icon to indicate when new notifications have been received.
I made some technical changes to #Vernissage. I switched to the new Observable macro. I use SwiftData instead of CoreData and a new translation system. I also made some performance tweaks. And I'm super happy with the end result. You should be happy also 😊.
New version of #Vernissage is available in the App Store. Some exciting changes have been implemented:
muting of statuses boosted by a specific account
improved view of trending accounts - the list is now compiled from several different sources
new option to hide all statuses without ALT text
If you are happy with the changes I encourage you to buy me a coffee or coffee and cake 😊. Alternatively, leave a positive comment on the App Story. Thank you very much in advance 😉.
Next version of #Vernissage will be the last one before version 2.0. In that version I would like to focus on technical debt. I would like to refactor source code and introduce view models. Then introduce new observable makro and SwiftData models. Also I would like to add in several places TipViews from TipKit and improve performance (especially in home timeline).
Therefore, version 2.0 will be compatible with iOS 17 and later.
I added two new features to #Vernissage. New tag with information about muted boosted statuses and new setting: “Hide statuses without ALT text”. Now few days of test and I will release a new version 😊.
I’ve implemented two new features into #Vernissage. Users will have option to mute statuses boosted by some account (which is done in device) and I’ve improved list of trending accounts. Now accounts are taken from few different lists.
After few days of tests I will send new version to Apple 😉.
