Made a mistake speaking out about my knowledge about GenAI at all, even if I'm known as a skeptic who doesn't use or believe in the tools, management knows me as the face of it from my org, so they expect me to proselytize shit like Codeium and Copilot.

Told my manager yesterday that i want off the bus, he says no, it'll look bad if i abandon it altogether because i "promoted it" by virtue of knowing more about it than the hype drunk ones.

People keep wondering how Nazi Germany could do what it did, now the genocide in Palestine demonstrates any Holocaust with any level of publicity will be tolerated by the strongest nations as long as they're benefiting from it, and that Germany's only crime the West punished was their threats towards the US and UK.

Remembering a mutual here who regularly criticizes Mastodon for having an insular crowd (which is v fair), because of the way their timeline had people talking dismissively about stuff like anti-black racism

but also, they came on here recently and said they didn't see anyone talking about the genocide on Gaza - you chose an extremely american lib list of people to follow, your main social justice touchpoints were US based as a result. US libs don't care about Gaza!

    Used to like her videos on cultural trends and social justice topics, i always found it weird and offputting when people used to accuse her of being a transmedicalist grifter who was weird about nonbinary people, but then she kept saying weird shit on Twitter and finally cast Buck Angel as a VO in one of her videos (trans male pornstar infamous for being a massive misogynist and conservative). Then she got on a Hillary Clinton interview and gave her a house tour.

    She also stirred up drama today by revealing that she used to date Philosophy Tube, weirdly accusing her of copying her own video style and also being gross about Abigail transitioning during their relationship.

    The timing of it all is also v stupid, because Abigail's been in a series of high profile projects recently, and has been announced as being part of the new Star Wars show.

    Question to my friends here!

    Did you try to read this essay, find it hard to open/read the pdf on your phone, and then put it off?

    I'm asking because I've never had zero responses to something I've written, and I want data on my thesis that pdfs are a hinderance to open access.

    Obviously no one is entitled any readers, not even friends, so this is strictly a data question, not a disguised marketing attempt :p

    gotta give some appreciation for the Dance Masti albums of my childhood, Ehsaan and Loy took classic romance songs from 50-80s Bollywood and somehow converted them into literal sex through audio

    MUCH more random autotune than i remember though, you gotta look out for the ones sung by real singers

    ALSO it's really funny finding one of the few Dance Masti music videos that doesn't feature men and women glistening in porno lights and getting ready to jump each other's bones, and seeing the typical indian comment that goes all "wow... innocent times... when there was no vulgarity only innocense in indian msuic........"
