Microsoft Outlook puts attachments that you open in some insane temporary folder. That’s fine for viewing a file but god forbid you save without changing the full path.

It’s super tricky and problematic. Organizations like AIPAC have many American politicians in their pocket. They pump a huge amount of money into lobbying our government promoting Israeli interests. But this argument gets awfully close to “the Jews have all the money and control the world” type conspiracy thinking which is very frustrating.

I started fiddling with NixOS and it quickly became my Docker host and my virtual desktop. I don’t know if I’m going to put it on my physical desktop but the idea is tempting.

I don’t know if NixOS is going to take off but it seems like something the enterprise IT world may adopt and I want to be on that train.

If you have spare computing power, consider donating some of that to a distributed computing project (boinc.berkeley.edu)

Berkeley has this really cool program called BOINC that you can download and donate your computer’s resources to processing scientific data. There are a bunch of projects to pick, from working on climate change, to cancer, to the Large Hadron Collider....

What is your favorite Ghost type Pokémon? (m.archives.bulbagarden.net)

My favorite is Drifblim. I remember how mysterious it felt having Drifloon be only catchable on Fridays in the original Diamond and Pearl versions. It made breeding for their eggs more exciting than the regular kind of Pokémon. Also it’s a living balloon which I like.

I’ve been playing around with Alpine recently and I quite like it. Now if I can just get my virtual desktop Alpine container to work correctly I would be very happy haha.
