I’m not sure. All I know is that Proxmox doesn’t recommend using Docker in LXCs. It seems Proxmox has much more control over the internals of the container and can break stuff.

pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Linux_Container

If you want to run application containers, for example, Docker images, it is recommended that you run them inside a Proxmox QEMU VM. This will give you all the advantages of application containerization, while also providing the benefits that VMs offer, such as strong isolation from the host and the ability to live-migrate, which otherwise isn’t possible with containers.

Mine came from Craigslist. It’s perfect for server stuff.

I think this model is roughly $1300 brand new. Mine has some cosmetic damage but I still see used KVMs like this on EBay in the high three digit range.

mikyopii,
@mikyopii@programming.dev avatar

If I had to guess it got damaged when transported in a box with hundreds of pounds of old servers stacked on top of it. Some of the other KVMs I saw were in pieces.

Virginia’s flag is actually pretty metal. Boobs, murdering tyrants, and the Roman personification of virtue.

The only draw is the dreaded seal on blue template of state flag designs. I would love for it to get a redesign but I’m afraid we would get a generic, cookie-cutter replacement that doesn’t retain the good parts.

Boob on blue? I’m in.

I ran it previously because I came from that world and I just thought that’s what you did. I was less Linux-y then. It’s really overkill for such a small network but if you want to learn AD then it might be worth it. Personally I hope to never look at AD again but alas I need moneyz.

If you do decide to run it make sure you enable profile caching in group policy, it will prevent you from being locked out when your DC is down. Also if you have laptops you can safely bring them outside your network and they will still be able to log in.

How to Quickly Remove Bloatware From Windows 11 (www.makeuseof.com)

When you buy a new PC—whether a high-end gaming device or an entry-level laptop—you expect it to be clean from the start. However, Windows 11 typically comes with at least a few unwanted pre-installed apps, called bloatware. How should you remove bloatware from your PC?

If you work on a government contract they could be written into the contract.

The Department of Defense has the 8570 baseline which defines which roles require certifications. Having these certs are helpful because you can’t get these jobs without them. You can see them here: …cyber.mil/…/dod-approved-8570-baseline-certifica…

I always feel the Air Force looks down upon close air support in favor of their more strategic mission. But they would never let the Army take CAS from them.

In case my opinion isn’t obvious, Everyone else has planes, why not the Army too?

They didn’t fuck it up!

We even got some bullying at the end!

I don’t think I’d place the blame solely on the flag movement. Rather the sterile, risk adverse, committee focused method of adopting new flags creates sterile, risk adverse, and committee focused products.

Caring about your state flag seems less like a movement and more of a weird fascination of terminally online weirdos. No judgement, I am probably in that category too.

The Cult of AI (www.rollingstone.com)

…“We believe Artificial Intelligence can save lives – if we let it. Medicine, among many other fields, is in the stone age compared to what we can achieve with joined human and machine intelligence working on new cures. There are scores of common causes of death that can be fixed with AI, from car crashes to pandemics to...

This is written by Behind the Bastards host Robert Evans. They just released an episode that follows this article pretty closely. Check it out if you’d like to listen to more of this sort of content.

US military academies focus on oaths and loyalty to Constitution as political divisions intensify (apnews.com)

For 75 minutes, Maj. Joe Amoroso quizzed his students in SS202, American Politics, about civilian leadership of the military, the trust between the armed forces and the public, and how the military must not become a partisan tool....

Interestingly, when you commission as an officer your oath only mentions the Constitution.

_I __, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.

When taking the oath of enlistment it does mention the President.

_I, ____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.
