I read the first chapter of a newer series, Shojo Null, and it was a wild first chapter. Basic premise of the world setting - it is set in the future where human-body based robots callee "gijin" serve humans in everyday tasks.

However, despite being told they have no sentience and are merely mindless tools, they do. And tech blocks them from that.

The story follows a kid with a deceased scientist Dad, and a newly freed gijin who had that part damaged so they gained their freedom / sentience.

It gets violent.

A well done intro that makes you think about what defines a human. Let's see where it goes.

I doubt the "actually, I always search with site:reddit to get good search results" nerds are anywhere near to being a substantial subset of people who use google, but I think it would be funny if the death of reddit also led to the death of google search
