Played some Stardew Valley, the post 1.6 update! I seen some of the new content and found several new items. Including meeting a new NPC on a whim. Finally have the cellar in progress; to age all the fine dairy byproducts and wine which I've been producing. However, I'm finding my farm layout lacking in efficiency so reorganizing it will be most useful. Especially since I want to expand my animal byproduct output and make it look cute AF!
Agnes believes we need to expand freedom and equality to the citizens of Moduland. She is proposing a complete sharing of all resources with all citizens and, using island resources, to establish of a gnome / gyroid sanctuary in the southeast portion of the island.
Walt came up second saying we need more food options. He said we just need a few more sweet shops, maybe a deli, and a ramen place. He then took a bites of the sandwich he brought.
Ankha then came out swinging saying that she needs Matt to completely clean up the southeast island and turn it into an adorable, beach resort area for all villagers to visit and relax.
Arthur just kind of sat there to, somehow, raucous applause that I don't know where it came from.
Last night, in #ACNH I had a visitor to the campsite who was quickly enamored with Moduland. They also were quick to move in! Walt spoke with Tiansheng, & it turns out out he was ready to move on.
While I'll miss Tiansheng, we will always have his love of my delts.
Honestly, I saw our Walt & thought, "Wow, cool islander!" When he suggested Tiansheng to move, I knew it was fate. His home design fits into the area where Tiansheng lives. I look forward to getting to know Walt!
This week I opted to do something different. When going over to #HarvsIsland, I decided to recreate an #album cover. Here we have Lucky, Raymond, Filbert, & Tiansheng dressed as #Weezer from the cover of their self-titled album, aka the #BlueAlbum.
I really tried to capture the spirit of the outfits and the album cover here. The outfits were harder to capture than getting the room all blue.
Right near the shops in my retail district, I have a small crafting center.
Do you need things crafted? Pass along the supplies to Matt, and he will make it happen.
A while back, I had friends / my kids visit as I had some DIYs they did not. That was when I built this area. I found I could be passed the items across the counter, and then I could pass back the crafted items to them.
So, yea. I decided to go back to baela.acnh from Instagram's amazing prompts. This time, I went with my oldest kid's name and birth month for a new prompt. Boho storefront.
So, I went over to #HarvsIsland and carefully crafted a storefront for Shino to work at. She was not expecting me to snap a pic so quickly, but here we go.
Thanks again for baela for putting these prompts out there. This was a lot of fun.
I'm not one for "New Year's resolutions", but I am one for overly ambitious projects.
For 2023, Project365 is "One New Game Per Day".
Given that I have 634 unplayed games in my Steam account and {mumble} unredeemed bundle Steam keys, there's a reason my unplayed collection is tagged "Pile of Shame".
I'll pin this to my profile, and give a brief summary here each day (or x, if I miss x days due to work or stuff).
I'll play 15-30 minutes of (at least) one new game I've never played before (or played less than 15 minutes of). I'll give every game at least 15 minutes, even if I hate every minute of it.
I'm also open to suggestions; if you reply to this thread with a game, I'll schedule it, or tell you what I thought of it.
One of the things that's come up is that I have a bunch of games that I've played once, and not touched again.

A Little to the Left isn't about becoming increasingly progressive, but rather a cozy puzzle game about organizing household items.
I'd had it on my wishlist for a while, and Steam seasonal sales are my kryptonite.
To be honest, after the last week, it was really kind of what I needed last night.
Also, there's a cat.
The cat likes to reach in at infrequent intervals and mess up the pile of things I'd just organised, and to be honest, I didn't mind at all.
There's a lovely, whimsical feel to the design of the game. The puzzles (so far) aren't terribly complex, but there's a wonderful feeling of satisfaction with each solved puzzle.
It's not just the satisfaction of solving the puzzle itself (and one does love a good puzzle game), but the solutions themselves are usually deeply satisfying to my autistic brain, that wants to organise & systematise everything.
I think the only other game that's really scratched that itch for me is the delightful (and LGBTQ+) Unpacking.

The Stillness of the Wind is a third-person game about loss and getting old.
Talma lives alone on her farm in the middle of nowhere, with a couple of goats, and a few chickens.
This is a very quiet game, that involves just... living. As Talma, you milk the goats & make cheese. You collect eggs from the chickens, and mushrooms from under the windmill. You plant seeds, and collect water from the well, to water them. You cook dinner, read a letter should one come, and go to bed to start over.
Rendered in warm watercolour tones, you feel Talma's age as she makes her way around her tiny farm. Various items bring memories to mind, and several of them are quite sad.
This is not a game to play for fun. It evoked in me a sense of melancholy and loneliness.
I will probably play it through to completion, but when I'm in the right frame of mind to engage with it.
