I’m happy to report that the security line at SLC gave it all and now rivals the one at JFK!

On the brighter side: they’re doing a doggy pre-check (3 ppl have to stand in a line while a dog walks past) and you don’t have to take anything out of the bag or take off the shoes.

I always knew the answer was more doggos.

@hynek Didn’t see any doggos when I was departing SLC, but I got randomly selected for an enhanced security experience and had to take off my shoes and belt and submit to a Freedom Frisk.

    I have a couple old, dusty bottles of whiskey I should finish before I let myself buy another bottle. These two were given to me... I want to say they were left over from a party at a programming conference. I wasn't at the party or the conference, but I gave one of the organizers a ride to their hotel and I was given this "gift." Open and partially emptied JW Black and Akashi something.

    @onelson Tomatin looks like it’s a Highland though, so it will have quite a different character from an Islay.

    @onelson They’re quite different! Smoky and funky and weird. I do think some water or ice helps, but I’d still prefer a Speyside or Highland in general.

    @dgouldin @onelson That’s a very good comparison! My first Islay was Caol Ila, and was an entire bottle. Turns out it’s what other distilleries blend in when they want to add the OMG SMOKE note to blended scotches. I couldn’t drink it, and we ended up giving the bottle away to a friend.
