A new version of Piper for NVDA is out.

What's new in v2.0

• This version introduces a separate process for the TTS. This significantly increases responsiveness
• Installing voices is now easier using the integrated voice manager, which allows you to preview and download available voices
• The TTS no longer introduces unnatural pauses at the end of the line during say all
• and many other improvements and bug fixes

@accessibleandroid Please help!

After I updated Speech Recognition & Synthesis by Google to the last version, I lost the ability to download voices.
Any suggestions?

@accessibleandroid
The option exists, but nothing happens when it's pressed.

@accessibleandroid no, all the ones I tried fail. When I press the download button, nothing happens, and TalkBack keeps losing focus and focusing the button.

Okay. What are NVDA users on Windows 10 using these days for OCRing image-only PDF's? When I was using JAWS as my daily driver, this was no problem as it would pop up a dialog and offer to OCR whenever Acrobat opened such a file.

@jaybird110127 Bookworm provides an easy to use, fast OCR on windows.
By default it uses Win10 builtin OCR. But you can optionally install Tesseract.

For those who use the Piper voices add-on for I've just added an integrated "Voice Manager" where you can install new voices, and manage installed ones. So, no manual download, no TAR archives 🤗

A new version with the voice manager will be released later this month. Stay tuned!

oh my god, “rainbow” is “rain bow”

as in a bow shape made by rain

@fasterthanlime in Arabic they are written as two separate words, that's why from the first glance you can directly get the meaning.
