Rescued a pelican!

It was late on Sunday and night was falling, the local rescue center only had one person on duty and we were quite far behind in the call-out list.

Since I had all the kit ready they suggested we rescue it and bring it into the center. Which we did.

Normally I would have put a finger in its beak so that it could breathe and then led it by the beak into the carrier but since it has an injured neck I didn’t want to do that. So i used the trusty towel method!

New pumpkin season starts, I’m a bit late starting these babies off, I soaked in water for 1 hour, put in damp kitchen towel in a plastic bag for 48hrs &just planted them out in little pots.

The Downe family is having a growing competition this year for pacific giants (which are edible) but I’m also going to grow two Atlantic giants (which get bigger!) and maybe cross pollinate - a 1022lb Gibson ‘21 & a 1379lb Gibson ‘22

Rest in peace Azi, you were such a lovely chicken, even if you were a pain in the arse sometimes, you were the absolute boss chicken and we all loved how cheeky you were and remember fondly all the times you stole food from us and ran away with it. I wish I had more time with you. I love you.

I need some good examples of relatively simple CSS and JavaScript functionalities that aren't supported by all browsers.

Last year this time the poster child was :has(), which was not supported by Firefox. I'm looking for something similar today.

Happy 10 year Californiaversary to us! Ten years ago today Simon and I relocated to to the USA from England with the Lanyrd crew (9 adults and 2 kids) as part of our Eventbrite acquisition.

10 years on and even though everyone has moved jobs since and some have moved states too, we are all still in the USA!

You can tell a lot about a resteraunt by how they cater for vegetarians!

La Costinera is great, so amendable and they have a separate menu for vegetarians and food intolerances.

We went somewhere else last night and I felt like I was an inconvenience, no vegetarian meals on the menu and the off menu risotto they made for me was just awful. This place used to have a veggie burger but they removed it from the menu for some reason!
