Rhea was doing great (sleeping) until I woke her up to take a picture. This is cat equivalent of “what the fuck do YOU want”.

I also have another cat, Luna, around here somewhere, but she’s shy, so I have no idea where she is or what she’s doing. I tried searching without any success. She usually shows up in the evening when the kids have gone to bed.

Behavior between verdict and judgement usually is.

So on one hand, this is a non-violent case about someone with no (official) criminal record. This usually results in parole and a slap on the wrist.

On the other hand, he shows no remorse for the crimes he’s been found guilty of, and it seems he’s doing everything he can to piss off the ones who are deciding his future.

EDIT: I hear reports that the one downvote was from president 34 himself.
EDIT2: Aileen Cannon also joined.

neidu2,

Pedantic: Yes
Valid: Also yes.

In my book, pedantry falls into the same category as “technically” - An even better form of being correct.

neidu2,

I think I would classify Donald as “Gainfully Unemployed”

34 doesn’t refer to the presidential sequence number.

Although I don’t think Ike would agree with a whole lot of my political stances either.

neidu2,

Well, I for one will never vote for Hunter Biden

neidu2,

To elaborate on this one: Sudden change (for the better) happens, but it’s extremely rare. It’s happened twice for me, and I think those are outliers. Usually, progress is slow and tedious, and you don’t notice it while it’s happening. Only in retrospect does the change become truly visible.

The people living in the Renaissance didn’t feel that change was happening around them.

Figure out when a kettle of piratoes is ready. I can cook a lot of stuff, but when boiling potatoes I always need my GF to check if they’re ready.

Edit: potatoes. No fucking idea what happened with my spelling

It’s worth noting that almost every episode he broadcasts contains “emergency broadcast”. And he’s made claims that he’s about to be arrested/assassinated/disappeared/shut down for well over 20 years at this point.

Looking forward to the next ep of KnowledgeFight, though.

EDIT: Sweet, new ep or KF is out!

EDIT 2: Hoboy, this is a wild one. Even those who normally don’t listen to Knowledge Fight should check this one out (episode ).

But instead the media behaves like nothing was learned during the 2016 campaign. Who would’ve thunk: Clicks, ratings, Oxford comma, and ad revenue are all more important than ethical and non-destructive coverage. And I only agree with one of those.

neidu2,

Of course

neidu2, (edited )

He’s been doing that too for years. His rhetoric is very similar to that of Trump in that he claims to be the last bastion of defense against woke commie transgenders. "Support me by buying my crap, and you help me help you against this tyranny "

neidu2,

An AI will not take your job. But someone who uses AI well as a tool might.

Alright, i misunderstood your question, and I was thinking of a very different scale and setup. But I’ll post it anyway in case someone finds it useful.

I can absolutely recommend the Seagate Exos Series. Reliable, fast, and durable. I have 864 of these spinning at work, and the only ones who’ve failed are likely due to the harsh operating environment. I’ve used them since 4TB, and now 10tb. We’ll probably go for the same brand when upgrading again in about 6 months.

It’s only as overwhelming as your trip. Start simple: Overnight in a tent somewhere close to home. Bring what you think you’ll need, and if it turns out you overlooked something vital, you can always go home whenever.

Baby steps. Nobody camps a week in the wilderness alone, miles away from civilization their first time.

On short trips nearby, you can get by with the bare minimum: tent to sleep in, something to sleep on, something to sleep under. A sleeping bag can cover the two latter points. Personally i like blankets better, provided I set up the tent so.ewhere reasonably soft. Bring as much food and drink you think you’ll need - It doesn’t have to be a full meal. If it’s only over night, even a bag of chips and a bottle of water will do.

neidu2,

Sounds like a good plan. If you start small, you’ll be able to bring in one more complicating factor at a time by, for example, gradually extending your stay past meal time or loo time.

Also, if you’re able to source water at or near your camping site, that’s one less thing to worry about.

I’ve never touched a steam deck nor its OS. How much of the underlying OS is exposed to the user? Is it easy to bring up a terminal emulator?

neidu2, (edited )

True, but there isn’t really much of a discussion of users moving TO windows, as using windows is, on a broader scale, the de facto default.

I’m curious how the linux share would be today if no PC ever was sold with a preinstalled OS.

neidu2, (edited )

Alright, good to know.

Also, the gate is open come in. There seems to be some elitism regarding the choice of distro, but don’t pay any attention to that. “Mint and Ubuntu are noob distros, I use arch btw” is only partially a meme.

I’m a linux user of 20+ years, and I run Mint on my desktop. Arch users are the linux equivalent of the car guys who spend ages tuning engine performance and gear ratios in their car. I just want something that works well and that does what I need it to do in a reliable way. Plus, the Mint user base is so large that it’s relatively easy to find a workaround/fix for whatever strategy nge issue you might run into.

I hear good things about Pop OS, but I have no firat hand experience with it, so I can’t comment on that.

neidu2,

While maybe not quite the hyperbole of turning into MS, it’s not entirely wrong either. That’s why LMDE was created - in case they go completely off the rails. And that’s why I run LMDE - I support the move.

neidu2, (edited )

No, because I’m not making an argument for or against something, I’m pointing out that the discussion at hand is moot because there are two different goals being argued towards. Apples and oranges.

neidu2, (edited )

No. If you look carefully you will notice that the title is a question (hint: there’s a question mark at the end). I joined a conversation that sought to answer that question. You, however, seem to be after an argument, in which case I suggest you find someone else. Especially if you want it in dutch as I do not speak the language.

Edit: Lol, what the fuck

neidu2,

Hoboy, that’s an arguement I’m not even remotely willing to approach. So instead I will respect your opinion, fight away the mental imagery of “crow of judgement”, and move along. Have a good day.
