I have to admit that I believe that WST withheld his withdrawal until the last minute. There were more than rumours before that they do it on purpose.

I disagree in part.

I don't want to see players forced to play in a tournament if they don't want to/would rather withdraw.

As much as I mock ROS for withdrawing (ostensibly) in the last minute, I would be seriously annoyed by having to watch his antics if he was forced to turn up.
Or hearing everybody making up excuses for them/him.

WST withholding information is their default position.
Doing it on purpose to lure audiences into the venues is shameful.

I don't know if you heard Hendry talk about Siripaporn, it was not just the words "I've never seen her play", it was also the tone in which he said them. There was contempt in his voice that she was in this event and that he should be asked to comment on her game.
It was very unprofessional.

Seeing (referee) Mark King stewarding at the English Open in Brentwood I remembered that (player) Mark King was suspended on 18 March this year "until the conclusion of the investigation or any subsequent charges that may or may not be brought" but there's no final verdict on the WPBSA pages.

Does anyone know more than what's in this short statement (and maybe even have a link)?

According to Wikipedia, he "is" a professional snooker player but 'was suspended from attending or competing' in March 2023.

Ich hatte halt keine Lust, hier eine Runde an sämtlichen WLAN-Kabeln zu wackeln etc., ohne gefragt zu haben, ob das Problem womöglich gar nicht hier liegt.

    The reason I believe either Mark or MArk will take the title is that I think the pressure of reaching the final might be too much for Luca /Jahui. But now I'm wondering how much pressure winning would put on Jahui and if he could handle it. 😅
