As much as TikTok depends on the viral hits produced by its creators, especially Black creators, the platform fails to support and compensate them.

Their hard work and creativity are reduced to merely disposable "content" by TikTok - a commodity for the platform to use for engagement and revenue.

And worse still, TikTok's algorithms are racially biased against the very creators that energise the app.

@Daojoan Thanks so much for sharing. This line of deep thinking and writing deeply resonates with me. I sometimes wonder how to reverse the erosion of our capacity for deep thought and clarity. It feels somewhat analogous to going into recovery from a long addiction.
