Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has endorsed President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign, a sign of the president’s strength in uniting his party to have the backing of one of its most liberal members
I appreciate that we were on the precipice of fascism and still are scarily close to the edge, Biden was absolutely the right person and has done an ok job, all things considered. But he was past his prime in 2020 and he’s well past his prime in 2024. And Harris needs to get the boot too, she’s been absolutely worthless in a position that’s gotten more prominent these past two decades. If it’s Trump v Biden, I’ll absolutely vote Biden, but I’d vote for a rabid squirrel over Trump anytime, so that’s not saying much.
Just found it abouf 20 min and been scrolling through. It’s pretty nice, but on dark mode at least it’s really hard to tell the difference between where one post ends and another begins. Also, haven’t checked, but a compact mode would DC be great too.
I was curious if anyone else had tried out bringing in boardgame content/ideas into their RPG games? Minis are always great to bring in as some boardgames have some great figures to use, but also, just incorporating mechanics, settings, as a mini-game, or just the general idea of a game into an RPG seems like a great resource....
Usually when someone is venting at me, I feel like I should respond somehow and say something, but I have no idea what that something could/should be. Is it better to just listen or try to comfort them in some way?
My first shadowban I think took me about 2 months to realise why I wasn’t getting any replies… I had posted numerous help topics and just started to think that Reddit wasn’t that useful anymore....
I’m still not familiar with what a shadowban is, but I had a ban I had gotten from r/entertainment at one point because I said I thought something that Lizzo had worn looked “trashy”. That account was banned from r/entertainment. I was on another account scrolling through r/all and went to go comment on another random r/entertainment post and got a message about that account being tied to the banned account (I’m guess through IP or something). I’ve had other bans on different accounts with other subreddits, but never saw anything like that. Is that a shadowban?
My biggest impediment before to flossing was just the time it took. I always held off on flossing until the end of brushing, my “routine” was to brush, then floss, BUT oftentimes I’d just brush first, consider it good enough and then just skip the flossing because, hey I already brushed, I’m good, right? Mentally I was done with the whole thing as soon as I finished brushing.
So I switched the order around and I floss first now, which seems to work better. I’m not actually “done” with brushing until I brush, so once I floss I can’t just skip the brushing part. It’s a small change, but it’s helped me keep up a better routine.
I have one sitting around, but I just really couldn’t get into it, it just felt so… unnatural. Maybe they’re supposed to be better than normal flossing, but it’s never felt right for me.
I’ve always been a “lurker” on all platforms and communities because when I do have a question or would like to contribute my first thought has become:...
Maybe. It does bother me when I see people complain about posts where the person asks a really basic question and someone gives a few words in snide response like, “Google much?” and don’t actually answer the question. At the same time, some questions being asked could honestly be answered with a simple Google search, I just don’t know what the cutoff is. Sometimes you can get better responses in the comments than you would with a Google search, or the Google searches themselves will just turn up Reddit comments where somebody else asked the same question once upon a time. I think it does help to refresh the information sometimes, rather than just relying on Google Searches for information, sometimes you get actual real-world experts chiming in like, “Yeah, everybody thinks it’s A, but actually it’s B because of X, Y, and Z, it’s a common mistake that alot of people make.” So I’ll usually err on the side of just let ask whatever they want to, no matter how basic a question.
The episode just felt so painful to watch, just things happening without meaning, purely to advance the plot and get it from point A to point B. I just find myself not caring about any of it. The conversations and the dialogue all feel forced, like it’s all meant to induce suspicion and make us question peoples’ motives, but there’s not been any buildup in tension for any of it, so none of it matters.
Also, Nick Fury is apparently the most hated person in the MCU, everybody that knows him, hates his guts.
It’s Disney just trashing their own property, they’re apparently incapable of shitting all over themselves the longer they manage a franchise (see Star Wars). And what’s dumb is he’s not even the one that should get blamed for anything! It was literally all on Capt Marvel to find a planet for the Skrulls, she spent 20–30 years putzing around doing who-knows-what, the best Fury could do was to try to keep a lid on things at home. He had no choice in the matter, it’s not like he had a spaceship to go look himself.
And I feel like they’ve really left a big question mark with whatever he was doing in space, that’s just dangling out there getting ignored. I’ll be even more severely disappointed if they don’t answer that with this series.
I’m happy that they’re keeping it up, but I’ve already moved on to the point that even if Reddit were to completely go back on the API change, I wouldn’t come back. Personally I’ve already moved the goal post to where Steve Huffman needs to go before I’d consider ever going back. Reddit is dead for all I care.
That’s a good sign. One of the endearing things about Reddit was coming in and discovering some weird-ass new trend that had blown up in the space of 24 hours that everybody else had already gotten on board for. “Ok, I guess we’re doing people doing paintings of other people standing next to their paintings and making a big chain, that’s cool.” There’d be the initial trend itself, then reaction-memes to that trend, then shitposts making fun of the trend, then finally, after a span of time, TIL posts talking about the trend after the fact.
And potentially somewhere around half of that population is in there for non-violent crimes, with alot of inmates in for drug offenses, it’s absolutely ridiculous. Focus on the people that need to be in prisons, the violent sociopaths, stop trying to turn more people into criminals.
As a non-Canadian, I was confused by the headline, thinking at first that Canada was building some sort of transgender mountain pipeline, but it seems to be just something as boring as a oil/gas pipeline.
