I finally met @snugug! There have been way more opportunities to connect with the different platform teams at Google I/O than I expected. Cheers for future collaborations!

Vite v6 Environment API is ready for wider feedback. It lets us orchestrate any number of Environments with a single vite dev server or build process, running their modules in different runtimes. If you're building on top of @vite, please help us review the design.

If you are wondering why node --run <cmd> was added to Node 22, the overhead compared to npm run <cmd> is around 200ms less 🔥

Thanks Yagiz Nizipli et al! I hope some of the money you're going to save the world in CI time flows back to sponsor y'all ❤️

I love @antfu's initiative. Companies with a decent OSS fund have a team deciding how to distribute it. This OC offers you a chance to sponsor OSS, delegating where the funds are most needed to someone that is highly-trusted and has deep knowledge of ecosystem 💜

> The burden to create something that fits in the Reproduction input is difficult and prevents lots of bugs being reported.

If users don't create a repro, they pass the burden to contributors. OSS scales when users and maintainers collaborate.

Join us on May 13th if you're near the GitHub HQ! 🙌
I'll do a talk about how we do Open Source in Vite and how StackBlitz has helped us in the @vite ecosystem (powering uncountable minimal bug reproductions and more!) ⚡️
I hope to see many folks I haven't yet met there 💜

A lot of OS devs are forwarding part of their GH Sponsors' funds to other maintainers. I love this 💜

But we're collectively losing a ridiculous sum of money. We need to take funds out of GitHub to our banks and in again to be able to transfer money that is already in the platform.

Could someone inside GitHub help us get Sponsors forwarding as a first-class feature?

A week ago, someone answered to my post saying that a big cataclysm was needed for companies to wake up. If a company isn't significantly funding OSS and actively participating in sustainability efforts, it should count as negligence at this point.

Must watch! Honeypot does such a great job of showing the human side of OSS. We were lucky to be in the live premiere a few weeks ago in Amsterdam, with Ryan, Issac, and Mikeal in person. A ton to learn from Node's rich story. Eager to see the second chapter, ten years from now.

During the @vite 5.2 release, Remix and Quasar joined vite-ecosystem-ci. We're now running the CIs of 24 downstream projects, ensuring stability across the ecosystem for each core release. Analog, Astro, Laravel, Nuxt, SvelteKit, UnoCSS, VitePress, Vitest, and many more!

I'm anxious about devs pumping their GitHub contributions by weaponizing Devin (and better future incarnations) to create sounding PRs to popular OSS repos. It will take time to realize the PRs are automated. We'll close 90%. A nightmarish drainer of maintainers' time and energy.

@khalidabuhakmeh A possible future is that OSS projects move to an open-to-contributors-after-we-approve-you model
